Red, Green & White Festive Stamping

Hi all! Happy Thursday!

Today we have some nail stamping that was inspired by Colores de Carol I seen these and loved everything about them, so I just had to try it for myself :D

Sadly I didn't pay enough attention to the way I was placing the colours, so mine aren't nearly as pretty as hers!
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Rimmel - French White
Stamping Colours: Essence - Kiss On Top Of The Rock & Manhattan - Green Piece
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM306
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails

Essie - To Buy Or Not To Buy & Multi-coloured Stamping

Hi all, happy Tuesday!

Small post for you today as there wasn't much daylight knocking around when I was trying to take these photos. I also have some polish-pimped plugs at the end :]

I started with a base colour of Essie - To Buy Or Not To Buy, which is a gorgeous lilac colour with some really pretty ice blue fleck-like shimmer. It does hide on the nail, but not as much as these pictures would make you think. I then did some multi-coloured stamping using this method, using Beauty UK - Jelly Bean & W7 - Blue Lagoon
Base Coat: La Femme
Base Colour: Essie - To Buy Or Not To Buy
Stamping Colours: W7 - Blue Lagoon
                                  Beauty UK - Jelly Bean
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM 321
Top Coat: Rimmel 60 Seconds - Clear
Unfortunately I didn't get a good shot of the base colour, due to my base coat making things bubble like crazy (something that's never happened to me before but you can't see in these pics too badly) and I was honestly chasing the sun around the house. I'll definitely be swatching this colour properly some time soon to show just how pretty the blue fleck-like shimmer is :] Above is two coats, and the first layer bubbled like crazy due to my base, and the second kind of helped to cover it up.

On to the polish-pimped plugs I mentioned:

These are just some plain black saddle acrylic plugs that I wear (in my stretched lobes) from time to time, and I decided they needed a boost. I've been wanting to do this for a while now, as they're just sitting in my piercing box along with many other items, all boring and plain. When I first got Golden Rose Scale Effect 04 I was tempted to do it, but I kept forgetting!

For these I put down a coat of black polish, and then one coat of Golden Rose Scale Effects - 04 and a top coat. I still need to go over the edges again and maybe put another top coat on to help them last, but for now I'm pretty happy with how awesome they look, with about 10 minutes of effort!

What do you think about the plugs?

Leafy - We Stamp On Sunday

Hi all! Happy Sunday! I'm having such a lazy weekend, I really need to edit some photos so I've got something ready for this weeks posts but I just can't concentrate :P

This week's challenge over at Adventures In Stamping was for a Leafy manicure. This is kind of what I was planning from the beginning, but I wish I had used a different leaf image, and maybe chosen different stamping polishes too.

Edit: I used this method for the multi coloured stamping. To see other times I've used this method click here.
Base Coat: La Femme
Base Colour: Essie - Ballet Slippers
Stamping Colours: Manhattan - Lemonade
Manhattan - Green Piece
Essence - Kiss On Top Of The Rock
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM 05
Top Coat: Rimmel 60 Seconds - Clear

Here's some swatches of the base colour, and what I used:

Hope you all liked them :] I think my favourite nail is my ring finger.

Today I thought I'd let you know about a guest post of mine for Jo over at Northern Nails. Apologies for the naff pictures, I was having a bad camera day :P

Multicoloured Stamping Tutorial

So I spent hours trying to take these photos last week after these nails got a lot of love, but I'm kind of missing some in between shots. So this is a little less like a tutorial, and more like some pictures, that I'll try to make sense of :P

For examples of when I've used this method see here, here, here, here, here, here, or here :]

Add your colours randomly, or however you want, and be generous.

Scrape over that, and clean off the plate (you can see rings of polish from where I waited too long trying to take photos). Make sure not to wipe off or clean your scraper.

This is roughly what you should have on your scraper. This isn't from the colours above - I forgot to take a photo. This is the colour mix that you'll be using.

Spread the rainbow goodness over the image you're going to use.
I like to spread the polish over in a different direction to the direction that I scrape; to further help mixing of the colours.

Scrape and stamp as normal, and repeat for the other nails :]
Here are some comparisons between using polish directly applied to the plate, and using what was left on the scraper

And one last example :]
Index finger & Ring finger are stamped using the initial colour, middle & little fingers are stamped using the colour left over from those stamps.

Okay; as this is my first tutorial, please let me know if any parts aren't clear or don't make sense :]

Let me know what you think!

Spring Challenge - Day 5 - Rainbow

Hey everyone!
It's the fifth instalment of the Spring challenge myself and Esme of Nail Addict are doing. Today is rainbow nails, but I think of these more as stained glass windows. They don't scream rainbow; but trust me when I say there's 7 colours in there!

Base Coat: Nail RX - Stuck On You
Base Colour: Sally Hansen - White On
Stamping Colours: Rimmel - Purple Reign
                                   Rimmel - Pop!

LA Colors - Static Electricity

Barry M - Bright Red

George - Buttercup Shine

Flormar - N007                                   M&S Mini - Unnamed pink
Image Plate: BM208
Top Coat: Models Own - 3 In 1

You can see the purple here on the thumb, on the other nails it's kinda blended into th mix.

I kind of feel like I was let down a little bit by Purple Reign (although it could just be my placements) but I will try this again one day when I have a sexy vivid purple in my hands (Yes; I am looking at you Zoya Mira you will be miine!!) and will see if it works out better.

Then I decided to see how it looked matte, and I looved it even more. Giving it the matte top coat really made the colours pop, and they looked more luminous

Don't forget to head over to Nail Addict to see what Esme came up with for today's challenge.

Up next; on Friday is frogs!

Using A Plate Ending In 4 - We Stamp On Sundays

This weeks challenge over at Adventures In Stamping was to use a plate ending in 4, I wasn't really feeling up to doing my nails when I did these; so they're a bit boring.

The base colour is a serious stunner though, OPI - Nevermore, which was sent to me as part of a swap from Iris over at Polish Amor. But more on that some time in the coming week ^_^

For this I used three different chrome polishes, a bright and pale pink, and lilac.

Base Coat: Nail RX - Stuck On You
Base Colour: OPI - Nevermore
Stamping Colours: NYC - Foil For You, Foil'er Up, Techno Foil
Image Plate: BM214
Top Coat: Models Own - 3 In 1
Dinged my midle finger again ;(

Using 3 Colours - We Stamp On Sundays

This weeks challenge over at Adventures In Stamping was to use 3 colours. I dunno if it was meant to be three colours including the base or not, but I think it's open to interpretation. Unless it's regarding green/blue and teals :P Hehe.

Base Coat: Nail RX - Stuck On You
Base Colour: Models Own - Utopia
Stamping Colours: China Glaze - Frostbite
                             George - Hoax
                             Miss Sporty - Unknown Colour
Image Plate: Konad M64
Top Coat: Models Own - 3 In 1

What I used :]

Kind of hard to see the change in purples, but you can better see the colour changes on the ring and pinky finger.

Stamping like this is my favourite kind. Don't get my wrong; I like nothing more than striking stamping on a plain base colour, but I just love mixing colours.

For stamping like this, where I don't want any harsh lines, I always use the polish left on the scraper not using the first stamp. :]

Hey everyone! Scheduled post here as I'll currently be in Edinburgh Chilling with the boy ^_^

Base Coat: Nail RX - Stuck On You
Base Colour: Sally Hansen - White On
Stamping Colours: OPI - Louvre Me Louvre Me Not
2True - Shade 16

You can only really see the difference in colours on the ring finger, but my other hand turned out better, but I didn't get pics.

Happy Valentines Day!

Stars - We Stamp On Sundays

Time for my second stamping challenge from Adventures In Stamping. This week's theme was stars, and at first I didn't really know what to do, what plates to use, what colours. It was a rather sunny day, so I decided on white, and Tie-Dye stars, using large stars, and some small stars to fill up some of the empty spaces.

Base Coat: Nail RX - Stuck On You
Base Colour: Sally Hansen - White On
Stamping Colours: Clubworks - Pink
                              Clubworks - Orange
                              P2 - Passion
                              Collection 2000 - Bongo Beat
Image Plates: BM05, BM14
Top Coat: Models Own - 3 in 1
Plates used, Sorry for the bad pic!
Right hand; I think it colours worked out better here because I didn't use as much P2 - Passion
Turned out alright I think :D! I think I made a mistake using P2 - Passion next to Collection 2000 - Bongo Beat, as It looks quite red. Maybe It was just because the opacity was different.

Anyhoo! Happy Sunday and I hope you enjoyed this mani :]

Pink Chrome Roses

This was one of those mani's that you can't stop staring at, because I mixed the chromes before scraping the plate it made certain parts of the image pop. So fun to wear. Sorry for whatever happened to the ring finger, I think some acetone spillage perhaps.

Some of these didn't transfer so well oops. I started with 2 coats of George - Asda, and then did a zigzag in one of the chromes, and filled in the other parts with the other chrome.

Base Coat: Nail RX - Stuck On You
Base Colour: George - Confusion
Stamp Colours: N.Y.C. - Foil For You & Foil'er Up
Image Plate: Konad M65
Top Coat: China Glaze - No Chip Top Coat

I think I'll have to use this method more often!

M&S Mini & Chrome Multi Stamp Mani

You can't really tell too well from these pictures, but there's actually two chromes, pale pink, and a lilac, which switch top and bottom on alternating finger; if that makes any sense. For this I used 3 different Bundle Monster image plates and one Konad plate.

The blue is from a set of 4 mini's that I got as a "hard work" present from my old managers (<3 them) in the set there was a bright pink creme, a yellow, and two glass flecked polishes; this blue, and a turquoise mint type colour.

Direct sunlight, 2 coats of the blue.

Base coat: CND - Stickey
Base colour: Unknown M&S
Stamp Colours: N.Y.C - Foil For You & Techno Foil
Plates Used: BM207, BM208, BM215 & M64
