Over A Red Base - We Stamp On Sundays

Hi everyone! I can't believe the weekend is pretty much over all ready!

This week's challenge over at Adventures In Stamping was to stamp over a red base. These are some nails I did for a date a few weeks back (though It didn't happen :c ) But the nails themselves I loved, even though my top coat was so goopy it almost ruined them.
Base Coar: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Gosh - Berry Me
Glitter: Barry M - Red Glitter
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM19
Stamping Colour: BYS - Black Satin
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails

These made me feel really festive when I wore them, and festive feeling  is something I need more of considering Christmas is only 9 days away, and i'm 99.9% sure i'll be missing out on one of my favourite things this year. Oh, mistletoe kisses I will have you again; perhaps next year. And I'm not talking about chocolate.

But now i'm ranting so I'm gonna actually get out of bed and make a cup of tea :] I hope everyone's had a good weekend!

Using Gold - We Stamp On Sundays

Hey all! I hope everyone's had a good weekend :] Mine seems to have gone far, far too quickly.

This week's challenge over at Adventures In Stamping was to use gold, either as a base colour, or as a stamp. I wore these nails on Monday  and knew I wouldn't have much time to do my nails today, so I decided to use them for the challenge.
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: FCUK - Bronze
Stamp Colour: Barry M - Gold Foil
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM223
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails

Short but sweet from me today, I want to get my nails shortened and painted for the week ahead :]

Kiko - Jewel Pink Holo & Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - TealyFast Stamping

Hi all!

Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone's having a good one! I'll be at work when this posts, but I'm feeling a lot better than I was on Sunday :] I still feel achey, and my bruises are crazy (all from falling down the stairs) but I'm feeling a lot better after quite a nice Sunday night ^-^
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Kiko - Jewel Pink - 402
Stamp Colour: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Tealy Fast
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM 314
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails
I'd like to take this time to thank Susana for sending this in our latest swap. I love it so much; and I'm not much of a pink fan! I also NEVER wear pink on my toes, yet this was on them pretty much solidly for months!

So pretty! I also really love the formula on this type of holographic polish. Dries so nicely. I did find that the holo effect almost was more prominent after a top coat.

Winter - We Stamp On Sundays

Hi all!

I hope everyone's had a good weekend! This week's challenge over at Adventures In Stamping was for winter themed nails. Originally I was going to attempt the "winter jumper" look done with a lacey print, and a stag like these lovely nails by So long, kitty. But I had a bit of a fail with the first nail I did, so I picked a different stamp, and just got on with it as I'm feeling pretty horrific (fell down some stairs on Friday) so all I want to do is get this post done, and get back into bed :P
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Models Own - Raspberry Crush
Stamping Colour: Konad Special Polish White
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM 315
Top Coat: Rimmel - 60 Seconds Clear

And here's what I used:

I really need a new white, not much left! Also the Models Own Polish I got free in a copy of More this week :]

Happy Sunday!

Over A Blue Base - We Stamp On Sundays

Hi all! I hope you've all had a good weekend! I've been stuck without the internet, and I've been beyond bored, but I guess that's what I get for waiting for someone else to make plans!

This week's Adventures In Stamping challenge was to stamp over a blue base. This has got to be the most subtle stamping I've done to date. Trust me when I say it looks much better in person! I was actually going to stamp again over the holographic polish, but because I didn't think I was going to get a chance to put this post out today I didn't bother.

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Nicole by OPI - Loyalty To The Royal-ty
Stamping Colour: Layla - Ocean Rush
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM 314
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails
Such a gorgeous blue. I got this for my birthday back in August, but I just haven't felt like wearing such a dark blue until now. This is three thin coats, drying time was really good :]

And here's what I used:

Well that's the quickie post for today, I hope you lot like them :]

Essence - Choose Me! & Gosh - Holographic Hero Stamping

Hi all, happy Thursday :]

Scheduled post today, as I'm at work. I must have done these nails about a month back now, and this was my first time stamping with a holographic polish - which was an experience, as it would dry so so quickly!
Base Coat: La Femme
Base Colour: Essence - Choose Me!
Stamp Colour: Gosh - Holographic Hero
Image Plate: Dashica Big SpD-A
Top Coat: Rimmel 60 Seconds - Clear
And here are two swatch photos. This polish was extremely hard for me to photograph, so shiny, and sparkly, and not the best lighting in the world. This is three thin coats, that didn't fully cover my nail line, but as I was stamping I wasn't too bothered.

Hope you're all having a good Thursday :]

Using Matte - We Stamp On Sundays

Hi all! Happy Sunday!

This weeks challenge over at Adventures In Stamping was to use some aspect of matte in our manis. I was originally going to do a new mani for this challenge stamping over a matte coat, but when I finished stamping the nails I was doing at the time, I knew they'd look great matte.

For this I used both ends of an Essence Colour3 stick. Midnight Blue is the base colour, and City That Never Sleeps is the lovely jelly flakie, that reminds me of Magnetic - Freakin' Violet. I then stamped with more blue - NYC - Niagara Foils using Bundle Monster BM 321, and added Rimmel - Matte Finish.
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Essence Nail Colour3 - Midnight Date
Flakies: Essence Nail Colour3 - City That Never Sleeps
Stamp Colour: NYC - Niagara Foils
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM321
Gloss Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails
Matte Top Coat: Rimmel - Matte Finish
The dimension the flakies give it almost make it look like crushed velvet ^-^
Glossy
One very thin coat of City That Never Sleeps
Midnight Date - 2 Coats Sunlight
Midnight Date - 2 Coats Shade
What do you guys think? I loved wearing these matte, but the picture of the finished product with a gloss top coat really makes the green flakies pop out!

Hope you're all having a good Sunday! :]

Pink, Flakies & Reptile Skin Water Decals

Hi all! Happy Thursday!

I so cannot wait for the weekend to come around, my last amount of time off I spent doing preparation for my assessment, and writing up a butt-load of stuff for my interview, not had an alarm free day at all! So this weekend I'm gonna get up when my body tells me to, and be all super organised with the blog :]

These are from a few weeks ago now, and something about them screams 90's to me. Maybe it's the Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air colour theme.
Base Coat: La Femme
Base Colour: Essie - Tour De Finance
Flakies: Golden Rose Scale Effects ( I can't remember the number!)
Water Decals: WDBLE974
Top Coat: Rimmel 60 Seconds Clear

These were sent to me to review what seems like an age ago now, but I just didn't know how to use the sheet. They're from KKCenterHK which sell a huge amount of nail art goods, as well as other things like eye lashes. What I will say is that the comic water decals I've used here, here, and here, were a lot easier to work with, and when handled loads they didn't start to tear unlike these this type. Though I did faff on a bit trying to get them centered. You can buy this reptile skin sheet water decal from here.

Anyways, these were super easy. Base coat, flakie coat, and then I used craft scissors to cut the water decal into zig-zag strips before using them.

If you're interested in anything in the store use coupon code: goldspecknails for 10% off, this code is valid until January 31st, 2013.

*This product was sent to me for review

Stamping Over Glitter - We Stamp On Sundays

Superrrr late post today, but it was either post it this late, or not take part in the Adventures In Stamping challenge again, which is something I do not want to do. Maybe after I've shown you my mani I'll explain a little bit about what the frak is going on with me lately.
Base Coat: La Femme
Base Colour: Kiko - Violet Microglitter
Stamp Colour: Barry M - Gold Foil
Image Plate: Bundle Monster - BM319
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails
And here's some shots of this little stunner without the stamping:

And here is two coats without top coat, looks a little bumpy, but you couldn't feel it to the touch:

Okay so explaining myself; I’m not writing this for any sort of sympathy, and I’m in fact already struggling of how to go about explaining things, but I feel like a bad blogger and want you guys to know why. I've not been keeping up to date with my reading list for a couple of months now, generally always being a week behind. Recently I'm not posting to my normal schedule, and I'm not as active as I should be. I'm not even painting my nails like I usually do, and I've even went weeks at a time without stamping.

This is pretty much because I'm adjusting to life now things have changed.  I've split up with Scott, so I've been trying to distract myself, from dwelling on things really. And this is why I've been a bad blogger. But I really want to get back into being organised! I've got photos from back in August that I need to edit and post; I need to get back into Sunday challenges too, as I've missed them.

I’m gonna try to get back to normal blogging ASAP so bear with me :]

Bronze Black & Teal Crisscross

Hi all! Happy Thursday!

I hope everyone had a good Halloween last night! I stayed in and tried to be productive.. But was feeling blah so I watched funny shows instead in attempts to pass some time and make myself giggle. It worked =]
Base Coat: La Femme
Base Colours: Rimmel Black Satin & LA Colors - Current
Stamped Colours: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Bronze Ablaze & BYS - Black Satin
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM322
Top Coat: Rimmel 60 Seconds Clear
One coat of LA Colors - Current over Rimmel - Black Satin
I loooove the blue quality Current takes when layered over black. I wonder what it would look like over purple too..

Halloween Blood Splatter

Hi all!

I know I've been slacking lately, and even forgot to add the polish picture to my giveaway, but I promise in the next week I'll try to get back to normal posting, or at least try to keep up with my reading list, which is really really huge right now lol.

Tomorrow I'm not going to be doing a stamping challenge, as I'll be chilling with my favourite girl post Halloween night out. However you might get some gore-tastic Halloween snaps :]

These are not the nails i'll be wearing, these were done a week or so back. I tried to do a straw splatter mani, but after getting frustrated, and even trying to splat with a brush handle I reached for the rough side of a kitchen sponge and went to town. I will do a straw splatter mani some day!

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Elf - Desert Haze
Reds: Beauty UK - Purple
Essence Nail Colour3  - Kiss On Top Of The Rock
Rimmel - Celebrity Bash
Top Coat: Sally Hansen - Advanced Hard As Nails

Hope everyone's having a good Saturday! When this posts i'll be covering my face in latex and tissue getting my zombie onnnn!

Blue-ming Swatch, Flakies & Stamping

Hi all. I've kind of been neglecting the blog recently, and I really can't help it, my mind is just else where, hell i haven't even painted my nails since last Tuesday!

Today we have a mani that I did a few weeks back now, and unfortunately I didn't get any swatch shots on the day due to the fact I've still got to get a daylight bulb/light box set up, so a week or so later I seen the sun and speedy speedy got the lovely Color Club Blue-ming back on my nails to get some pics.

I love love love this colour, I have no other colour like it. It's pastel but it's bright, turquoise, and leans blue or green depending on the lighting, and the formula is so so good. I need more Color Clubs in my life.
Base Coat: La Femme
Base Colour: Color Club - Blue-ming
Flakies: Golden Rose Scale Effects - 02
Stamp Colour: Sally Hansen Insta-dri - Tealy Fast
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM314
Top Coat: Rimmel 60 seconds - Clear
And here are the swatches. So pretty, and while it's not a dupe for Illamasqua - Nomad, it' has the same bright tones I lust after, so I'm a happy bunny.

Hope you all are having a better day than I am :] Oh and the Giveaway will be posted tomorrow :]

Essie - To Buy Or Not To Buy & Multi-coloured Stamping

Hi all, happy Tuesday!

Small post for you today as there wasn't much daylight knocking around when I was trying to take these photos. I also have some polish-pimped plugs at the end :]

I started with a base colour of Essie - To Buy Or Not To Buy, which is a gorgeous lilac colour with some really pretty ice blue fleck-like shimmer. It does hide on the nail, but not as much as these pictures would make you think. I then did some multi-coloured stamping using this method, using Beauty UK - Jelly Bean & W7 - Blue Lagoon
Base Coat: La Femme
Base Colour: Essie - To Buy Or Not To Buy
Stamping Colours: W7 - Blue Lagoon
                                  Beauty UK - Jelly Bean
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM 321
Top Coat: Rimmel 60 Seconds - Clear
Unfortunately I didn't get a good shot of the base colour, due to my base coat making things bubble like crazy (something that's never happened to me before but you can't see in these pics too badly) and I was honestly chasing the sun around the house. I'll definitely be swatching this colour properly some time soon to show just how pretty the blue fleck-like shimmer is :] Above is two coats, and the first layer bubbled like crazy due to my base, and the second kind of helped to cover it up.

On to the polish-pimped plugs I mentioned:

These are just some plain black saddle acrylic plugs that I wear (in my stretched lobes) from time to time, and I decided they needed a boost. I've been wanting to do this for a while now, as they're just sitting in my piercing box along with many other items, all boring and plain. When I first got Golden Rose Scale Effect 04 I was tempted to do it, but I kept forgetting!

For these I put down a coat of black polish, and then one coat of Golden Rose Scale Effects - 04 and a top coat. I still need to go over the edges again and maybe put another top coat on to help them last, but for now I'm pretty happy with how awesome they look, with about 10 minutes of effort!

What do you think about the plugs?

Using Metallic Polish - We Stamp On Sundays

Hi all, Happy Sunday!

This week's challenge over at Adventures In Stamping was to use Metallic polish. When I heard this I had an idea of what do to, but when I was rummaging through my polishes I was feeling a little bit blah, and couldn't really be bothered to distinguish between polish finishes; so I just grabbed (possibly) the only polish that's name included 'Metallic' and started painting lol.

So I started with W7 - Metallic Mars, and stamped with W7 - Gold Mirror using Dashica Big SpD-A.
Base Coat: La Femme
Base Colour: W7 - Metallic Mars
Stamp Colour: W7 - Gold Mirror
Image Plate: Dashica Big SpD-A
Top Coat: Rimmel 60 Seconds Clear
With flash to show the purple
Such a pretty base colour.
And here's what I used:

Hope everyone's had a good weekend!
