White Dogtooth over Multicoloured base

Hi all. Happy Wednesday. I say that knowing that there's only one and half days left to work! Can't wait for a little break!

Today I have some more "sandwich bag" method where you dab colours onto your nail and use plastic to gently mix the colours. Unfortunately for me, I didn't re watch the video, or do any googling before I tried this, and I actually mixed the colours on the plastic, and then transferred to the nail, which seems a lot messier than the original idea. After trying this method out for these nails I wanted to do a more purple and teal mix.
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Rimmel White
Other Colours: Sally Hansen - Fairy Teal, Color Club - Hydrangea Kiss, Beauty UK - Jelly Bean & W7 - Pink
Image Plate: Konad M65
Stamping Colour: Konad Special White
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails

And here's the base before stamping.

I like the way these turned out, so I'm going to try it again, perhaps even the "right" way so I don't get covered in excess polish!

Have a good day!

Dotting Tools - We Stamp On Sunday

Hi hi all, hope you've all had a good weekend. I have a feeling tonight is going to fly by and I'll be back at work before I know it :(

Sad times aside, yesterday when I did my nails for this Adventures in Stamping challenge it was actually sunny! So there's quite a few photos ahead, not loads, but a lot more than the couple of images I've been restricted to recently due to the use of flash only.

I also have a pretty special polish to show you (special to me) as it's gorgeous, and one of only two true matte polishes that I love the formula of. I believe to be a dupe for Orly's Iron Butterfly. This is amazing to be, cause I've wanted a polish like this for a couple of years now, and with W7's bargain price of £1.99; yes please!

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: W7 - Night Suede (also used for dots)
Flakies: Golden Rose Scale Effects Polish - 13
Stamp Colour: Barry M - Silver Foil
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM224
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails
Matte coat: Rimmel - Matte Finish
Above is with flash, pretty green!
Below is before I added to extra matte coat.

And for the base and flakies only combo, which looked quite nice as flakie polishes tend to dry a little matte.
This flakie is still true love for me, in fact the four I own are. Never disappointed when I reach for them. Here's what I used for the mani, and I will show you swatches of the beautiful Night Suede after that.

Now; onto the pretty pretty Night Suede. This first picture is a rough one coat, no clean up required! The other two are two coats, totally effortless polish to use.
So W7 - Night Suede looks pretty much like dupe of Orly - Iron Butterfly, but as I own it I can't compare. It's a gorgeous dark charcoal with tiny silver flecks, and it looks great matte or glossy, but matte for the win!

If anyone owns Iron Butterfly let me know what you think.

Until next time my pretties, I'm gonna go stick on a film and order a curry =D

Steam Punk Nails

Hi all

Little bit of a late post today, but If I don't do it now i'm going to crawl into bed until morning!

These, in my head, were awesome, but something about the stamp didn't really work. I think the stamp may be engraved too deep, as only one nail out of ten came out with actually spikes on the cogs, instead of smooshy circles.

That being said, I really enjoyed wearing these, I like how the whole thing pulled together. If only the stamp had worked out!! Yikes, ignore the blurry photos!
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Jacava - Chocolate Melts
Sponged Colours: W7 - Suede & Black
Stamping Colour: Miss Sporty - Electric Beige
Image Plate: Cheeky CH33
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails

Here's the base before the stamping:

Hope you guys have had a good Wednesday! I spent mine working, and snacking on Seaweed heh.

H&M Snow White Skittles - Glitter & Stamping

Hi all, happy Tuesday!

No doubt by the time this posts I'll be powering through work not even realising the time!

This is a mani I did a week or so back, with the H&M polishes that I won from Rainbowify Me. Make Me Blush Is the nicest peach I've ever found with my skin tone, and although the formula is a little runny, the coverage is amazing. Nothing like the dreaded Revlon Peach Smoothie. I decided Snow white would look quite cool over black, so I've used that layering combo for my ring finger. Also the Silver Frost is a lot nice than it looks here, the flash on my camera kind of kills the lightness that the glitter gave to the mani.
Base Coat: CND Stickey
Index & Pinky: H&M - Make Me Blush & Silver Frost
Middle: Three Coats of H&M - Snow White
Ring: W7 - Black & One coat of Snow White
Image Plate: Born Pretty Store QA5
Stamp Colour: BYS - Black Satin
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails

I did a gradient on my thumb using Make Me Blush, and W7- Blackm topping with two coats of Silver Frost
And here's a couple shots of the base colours themselves.
Index & Pinky: Two coats of H&M - Make Me Blush
Middle: Three Coats of H&M - Snow White
Ring: W7 - Black & One coat of H&M - Snow White
Please excuse the lobster hands in the next photo, but it really shows how bright Snow White is even in horrible lighting.
Snow white is really much more than a silvery white frost, it's really beautiful in decent light, and I'm going to try and capture that this weekend if I can.

Hope you've all had a good start to the week :]

Mini Christmas Haul

Hi guys! Happy Tuesday :]

Hopefully it'll be snowing when this is posted so I'll be sporting a face like this: =3 or this ^-^. Cause I love the snow, and it looks great from the floor I work on, all floatyyy and awesome. I could literally sit and watch the snow for hours.

In other news, I got my manager addicted to nails! I did some of my coworkers nails on Christmas eve, and recently Kerry asked for a list of things to buy, and she even bought a Konad starter kit! So you never know, I might even share her pretties with yous!

Today I have for you my mini Christmas present haul, just to show what I got. This is no where as crazy as last years haul, but I guess that's because Scott went crazy last year lol.
Mini Nails Inc set (the first Nails Inc I'm gonna try!) from my manager Debbie.
W7's are from my Nan/Aunt/Uncle and LA Colors & Technic are from my mam.

Hope you're all having a good day :]

Light Stamp Over A Dark Base - We Stamp On Sundays

Hi all, happy Sunday!

So the challenge for this week over at Adventures In Stamping is to stamp with a light colour over a dark base. I voted all excited for this, as I was expecting my new polishes to arrive (totally ran out of white so I bought 3 new colours as well) but they're lost in the post, so these pink and silver nails will have to do! The pink is darker than the silver so that still counts right?
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: W7 - Unnamed Pink
Stamping Colour: Barry M - Silver Foil
Image Plate: Cheeky CH51
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails
As these were the nails I was wearing all week I've not quite had the chance to take a photo of the plate I used, or the polishes like I would normally.

The W7 polish is a really surprising pink because I really love it on myself, which pretty much never happens with pink! It came in a pack I received for Christmas off my Nan/Aunt/Uncle, which had two polishes, a lip gloss and a mascara. This however means it has no name. *frustration*

Hope you're all having a good Sunday. I've had a pretty chilled one, pretty much ignoring most of the stuff I need to do in favour of cups of tea, and TV. Oh well!

W7 - Lava Flow & Another Swap With Susana

Hi all! Happy Thursday!

I have a quick swatch of W7 - Lava flow today, I was intending to stamp over it, but when I had it on I really didn't know what I could do with it. I also have new swap goodies from Susana to show you!
W7 - Lava Flow & Rimmel - Matte Finish
This is two coats of Lava Flow, an off white, almost lilacy base with matte black glitter, and regular red glitter floating around. When I first seen this polish many months back (I bought this back in July!) I loved it, but I just didn't like it on me, and I wished the red glitter was also matte. Which is why I added a matte top coat too, and it helped a bit.  In all honesty I liked this a lot better in person, at arms length than I do in these photos.

And onto my lovely goodies from my most recent swap with the lovely Susana, loads of new goodies to try! I got these a couple of weeks back now, but I'm yet to try anything still! I'm so bad!
Very excited to try Violet Microglitter that's not even half the sparkle you can see in real life!

She also sent me some green tea, which is the nicest I've ever tried. I was going to wait to take a photo before trying it, but I really couldn't wait :P Thank you Susana!

What do you guys think of Lava Flow?

Essie - To Buy Or Not To Buy & Multi-coloured Stamping

Hi all, happy Tuesday!

Small post for you today as there wasn't much daylight knocking around when I was trying to take these photos. I also have some polish-pimped plugs at the end :]

I started with a base colour of Essie - To Buy Or Not To Buy, which is a gorgeous lilac colour with some really pretty ice blue fleck-like shimmer. It does hide on the nail, but not as much as these pictures would make you think. I then did some multi-coloured stamping using this method, using Beauty UK - Jelly Bean & W7 - Blue Lagoon
Base Coat: La Femme
Base Colour: Essie - To Buy Or Not To Buy
Stamping Colours: W7 - Blue Lagoon
                                  Beauty UK - Jelly Bean
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM 321
Top Coat: Rimmel 60 Seconds - Clear
Unfortunately I didn't get a good shot of the base colour, due to my base coat making things bubble like crazy (something that's never happened to me before but you can't see in these pics too badly) and I was honestly chasing the sun around the house. I'll definitely be swatching this colour properly some time soon to show just how pretty the blue fleck-like shimmer is :] Above is two coats, and the first layer bubbled like crazy due to my base, and the second kind of helped to cover it up.

On to the polish-pimped plugs I mentioned:

These are just some plain black saddle acrylic plugs that I wear (in my stretched lobes) from time to time, and I decided they needed a boost. I've been wanting to do this for a while now, as they're just sitting in my piercing box along with many other items, all boring and plain. When I first got Golden Rose Scale Effect 04 I was tempted to do it, but I kept forgetting!

For these I put down a coat of black polish, and then one coat of Golden Rose Scale Effects - 04 and a top coat. I still need to go over the edges again and maybe put another top coat on to help them last, but for now I'm pretty happy with how awesome they look, with about 10 minutes of effort!

What do you think about the plugs?

Using Metallic Polish - We Stamp On Sundays

Hi all, Happy Sunday!

This week's challenge over at Adventures In Stamping was to use Metallic polish. When I heard this I had an idea of what do to, but when I was rummaging through my polishes I was feeling a little bit blah, and couldn't really be bothered to distinguish between polish finishes; so I just grabbed (possibly) the only polish that's name included 'Metallic' and started painting lol.

So I started with W7 - Metallic Mars, and stamped with W7 - Gold Mirror using Dashica Big SpD-A.
Base Coat: La Femme
Base Colour: W7 - Metallic Mars
Stamp Colour: W7 - Gold Mirror
Image Plate: Dashica Big SpD-A
Top Coat: Rimmel 60 Seconds Clear
With flash to show the purple
Such a pretty base colour.
And here's what I used:

Hope everyone's had a good weekend!

OPI - Louvre Me Louvre Me Not & W7 - Purple Dazzle Swatches

Little post today showing a beauty of a polish I've not shown here before. Also showing a new glitter I bought about a month back.
2 easy coats of OPI - Louvre Me Louvre Me Not. This was such a hard colour to photograph on this day. It's such a gorgeous plummy colour with really beautiful shimmer.
1 coat of Purple Dazzle over Louvre Me Louvre Me Not
2 Coats with flash.

I wish I'd thought a little more carefully about the base colour as I think it's a little too warm for the gltter. But I did enjoy wearing these. 3 coats would've looked better, but I really didn't want the hassle of an extra coat of glitter to remove :P

Hope everyone's having a good Wednesday.

My Favourite Layering Ever: W7 - Envy & Barielle - Elle's Spell

When I started painting my nails with W7 - Envy, my intentions were to get some swatch shots. But then after I got some photos of Envy, I saw Barielle - Elle's Spell from the corner of my eye; and decided to do some layering. This combination is amazingly pretty. Where the jelly of Elle's Spell is thicker you see a slight purple tinge to what is a blue/teal outcome. I also really love the colour of the flakies against the base.

For some swatches of Elle's Spell, go here.
Base coat: La Femme
Base Colours: W7 - Envy (2 Coats)
Barielle - Elle's Spell (1 Coat)

Here's the swatches of Envy. Two coats, no top coat. It has such a strange luminous glass finish to it. I love it.

I hope everyone is having a good Tuesday!

Precious Stone - We Stamp On Sundays

I honestly had no idea what to do for this challenge, I debated using Revlon - Emerald Green, but then I had no idea what do stamp, so in the end I settled on my other only remotely good idea I had; Tiger's Eye. Although It's only a semi precious gemstone It's all I had to work with :P
Base Coat: La Femme
Base Colour: Catrice - Genius In A Bottle
Other Colours: Rimmel - Hard Edged
                        W7 - Gold Mirror
                        W7- Suede
                        Barry M - Gold Foil
Stamping Colour: BYS - Black Satin
Image Plate: Konad M57
Top Coat: Rimmel - 60 Second Clear
I started with a base of Catrice - Genious In A Bottle, and added lines of the other darker polishes, dry brushed on some golds, and striped on some more gold, and some more dark colours, wasn't really a method to this one, I did a top coat and stamped, then added a top coat again.
Here's what I used:

And for those of you that don't know about Tiger's Eye here's a picture :]

Elf Desert Haze Gold And Brown Leopard Print

Hey all.. Simple Leopard print today. I'm still trying to catch up with all the mani's I've done but haven't posted, so these are from a few weeks ago. I've done this combo before on a nail set, but with Models Own - Nude Beige, and I think the warmth of that shade helps tone down the brassy look of the Citadel Paint, so I'm not fully a fan of these. But I like them matte =]

Base Coat: Nai RX - Stuck On You
Base Colour: ELF - Desert Haze
Stamp Colour: W7 - Suede
Image Plate: Konad M57
Gold: Citadel - Shining Gold
Top Coat: Models Own - 3 In 1

Elf - Desert Haze, 2 coats
And here's the basee colour, the first Elf I've ever tried; and I loved it. The formula was so great, and dried so quickly! I think it's my favourite nude right now. Then I added a coat of Rimmel - Matte Finish.

Hope everyone's had an okay day.
