Toxic Or Poisonous - We Stamp On Sundays

Hi all! Happy Sunday! I'm back for Adventures In Stamping Sunday challenge, I'm still a little sad about not partaking in last weeks challenge, mainly as it's caused a gap in my running streak! However, when I saw the vote for this week's challenge, I was so excited and inspired by 'Toxic or Poisonous' that I did my nails as soon as I seen the possible options and just hoped that it was going to win :D

I really wanted to do a glitter jelly sandwich with a neon on top to make it toxic looking, and was going to use a green, but then I came across this yellow first :D Originally I wanted to stamp an apple in red, but I found out I had no apple image, and remembered I didn't buy a Konad Red, and Quick Brick didn't really work over the glitter. So I went with the only other image I wanted to use, the mushroom on Bundle Monster BM 302. On to the pics!
Base Coat: La Femme
Base Colour: Essence Nail Colour3 - A Walk In The Park
Jelly Colour: YSSY - Not Named
Stamp Colour: Konad Special White
Red: Nail Art Pen
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM 302
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced - Hard As Nails

I seriously adored wearing these (even though the mushrooms are backwards), but as I've been putting this post together and glancing at thumbnails these really remind me of poker, like a poker table or something :P

Here's a swatch of the base Essence - A Walk In the Park, then with Essence Twins Glitter Topper - Clyde, and I thought I had a shot of YSSY over it before top coat and stamping, but I can't find one!

Trust me when I say these square glitter pieces are awesome, they shine on the nail like in the bottle, anddd a little bit of holographic shows through the coat of YSSY neon yellow.

Here's what I used:

I love how evil the outlined bunny on that plate looks :P

Well I hope everyone has had a good weekend so far, I am going to spend my Sunday evening trying to play catch up on my reading list (yet again). I'm constantly 5 days behind, and that needs to change!

Beauty UK - Jelly Bean & Gold Paisley Using Bundle Monster 315

Ahhh! Happy Friday my lovelies!

I am feeling a little better recently, I'm not going through a mass of tissue blowing my nose every 10 minutes, so things are looking up :] I also have such an amazing  polish to show you today, and I may need to buy a backup bottle because I love it that much hahaha.

For those of you who have been reading my blog for a while now; you may have heard me talk about "Saints Row purple" and how I've been on a hunt for the perfect bright purple polish that's not too pale and doesn't lean too plummy. After buying a watch that I thought was the perfect purple (it looked it online) about a year ago and it was too warm, I'd almost given up hope.

That's when the new Beauty UK candy collection comes in. Jelly Bean, oh Jelly Bean, where have you been all my life! Pretty fitting as I some times get called Jelly Bean or Jenni Bean hehe.

This is the best polish formula wise that I've ever came across from Beauty UK. It's opaque in one, more vibrant in two, and dries really quick too. It dries the typical neon matte ( I have no photos sorry) but looks pretty with top coat too.
Base Coat: La Femme
Base Colour: Beauty UK - Jelly Bean
Stamp Colour: Barry M - Gold Foil
Image plate: Bundle Monster BM 315
Top Coat: Rimmel 60 seconds - Clear

Here's some swatch shots to show it in a different light.

So yeah, look at that beauty! Ignore the little glittery specks, I must have had something on my top coat brush :(

Hope you're all having a good Friday :]

Something I Love - We Stamp On Sundays

This week’s challenge over at Adventures In Stamping is 'Something I Love' I knew what I wanted to post for this so it was easy. Especially easy as this is a manicure I had already done. It is something I love though. I love gradients, rainbowness, stamping over gradients, and stamping images like this one.

This image is actually my favourite from the Big SpD-A Dashica plate I own. And that's quite a statement as there are so many awesome ones. But yes, images like this, that show majority of the base are one of my favourite types to use; especially over gradients or multi coloured backgrounds, this image is so detailed too.

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Rimmel - White
Sponged Colours: Revlon - Sunshine Sparkle
                           George - Buttercup Shine
                           Clubworks Neon Orange
                           P2 - Passion
                           No7 - Poolside Blue
Stamp Colour: BYS - Black Satin
Image Plate: Dashica Big SpD-A
Top Coat: Models Own - 3 In 1

And a bad photo of them matte (Rimmel Matte Finish), which is actually how I wore them.

This was my first time trying the 'paint on the sponge method' for this gradient, and it turned out really beautiful as the colours worked so well together, but then I decided I wanted them more vibrant - and it went downhill from there, trying to blend each colour into the next became a little bit of a nightmare, and that's why I haven't included any photos of the gradient alone; because it looked like crap!

Bit of a dodgy scan/crop but you can see how pretty it is :]

I hope everyone's had a good weekend!

Yes Love Neon Green & Black Dogtooth

I'm almost sure I mention this every time, but as soon as I'm sporting shorter nails I reach for one my favourite stamps, from the original Bundle Monster series, BM19. I wish I had a bigger version of this, same small print, just more of it, though saying that If I could wear it with longer nails you all would probably get sick of seeing Dogtooth once a week :P

Dogtooth, or Houndstooth is actually how I came to find out about nail stamping. I was watching some YouTube guru (can't remember who now) and was just like "O_O those nails! I want!" So I went on a Google hunt, and stumbled into the crazy possibilities of stamping, and I've never looked back. : P

Anyhow I really love bright/black Dogtooth nails as they are always so bold, and eye catching. Here they are:
Base Coat: La Femme - Base Coat
Base Colour: Yes Love - Green 23
Stamping Colour: BYS - Black Satin
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM19
Top Coat: Models Own - 3 In 1

What's your favourite image plate?

Green Gradient & Frog Stamping

So after testing out the images from the plates I recieved from the Born Pretty Store I decided to do some stamping, and I was in the mood for the froggie so I used  M30, and used a green gradient for the background :]

This is more colour true.
Base Coat: Nail RX - Stuck On You
Base colour: Rimmel - Tip Whitener
Sponged Colours: Yes Love - Neon Green - 23
                                  W7 - Matte Green
                                  Revlon - Emerald City
Stamping Colour: Konad White
Image Plate: BPM30
Top Coat: Models Own - 3 In 1
The gradient's a lot prettier in real life, but it was bad photo weather lol. I hope everyone's having a good Thursday!

*This product was sent to me for review*
They also offered a 5% off coupon for you guys using code DS5X31

Color Club - Ultra Astral, Flakies & Black Stamping

So today I have another colour that my camera hates. I won this from Ingie over at fyeahilovenails, and I've stamped over it using the plate that I won from Dashica Beauty.

Color Club - Ultra Astral is such an intense neon pink, like so bright it hurts my eyes & I looove it! Suspended in the base is holo glitter, which doesn't really sparkle, as it's hidden by the colour, this gives it a really interesting finish. This was my first Color Club polish and I really do love it, the formula's good, and it's unlike anything I've got in my collection. I want more!

Then because I've been flakie mad ever since my winnings from Ingie I layered over two coats of Golden Rose - Scale Effects 02 Look at that freaking beauty! Nomnom!

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Color Club - Ultra Astral
Flakies: Golden Rose Scale Effect - 02
Image Colour: BYS - Black Satin
Image Plate: Dashica Big SpD-A
Top Coat: Models Own - 3 In 1

I honestly think my camera was having a little fit at trying to capture all the crazy of this mani. I loooved wearing this combo, insanely bright, glitter, flakies, black trippy stamping. Love <3

Hope everyone's having a good Thursday!

Unnatural Animals - We Stamp On Sundays

So because I got a bit behind on this week I had majority of yesterday to plan something to do. I had thought to do something inspired by a pair of socks I own, but they are leopard print, and I'd done leopard print recently so that idea was scrapped. Then I settled on some sort of rainbow cow print, but they turned out pants. So I settled on rainbow zebra or tiger, even though I used the stamp a couple of weeks back :P
Base Coat: Nail RX - Stuck On You
Base Colour: Sally Hansen - White On
Stamping Colours: Rimmel - Purple Reign
Clubworks - Neon orange & Pink
                              Deborah - Turquoise Fever
                              Miss Sporty - 346
                              George - Buttercup
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM223
Top Coat: China Glaze - No Chip Top Coat

I started with a base of white, and used my usual mixing method for multicoloured stamping. As always on Sunday; here's what I used :]

Can't even describe how fun these are :D I keep staring at my nails. I think I'm going to wear these until I have the serious itch to change my mani. Hope everyone's having a good Sunday! :]

Acid Leopard

These are actually from a few months back, and I'm not sure why I haven't posted them, as It's really not like me. I like posting things in the order I do them :P

This was my first time using a real konad stamping polish (this was before I used Konad White), and I was not expecting there to be so much of a difference between special polishes and regular ones. I had to re-do a lot of nails because of the smearing that occurred. Usually when I stamp, the image that's transferred is already dry within a few seconds, but with the special polish I had to actually wait before top coating, and be more careful with the brush strokes. The nails that I had to re-do were a total, total streak fest. Every little bit was streaked and smeared! Urgh!

Oddly though I don't have this problem with Konad White, so maybe It's just because this colour was so pigmented.

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Clubworks - Neon Green
Stamp Colour: Konad Special Polish - Red Wine (I Think)
Image Plate: Konad M57
Top Coat: Models Own - 3 In 1

I personally love these. The base is such a weird acid 80's vomit green, and with the wine red combo, it's so wrong it's right in my books!

Christmas Nails & Christmas Goodies

Today we have the nails I wore for Christmas Day, and the nail goodies that Santa brought me. :D Quick post today, but I should be back to the usual blogging after all my festive cheer is gone :P

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: China Glaze - Millennium
Nail Art Pens: Red & Green
Top Coat: China Glaze - No Chip Top Coat
These were a bit rushed, and botched for my liking, but after doing my Cousin, my Aunt, and my Mam's nails I ran out of energy and just couldn't be bothered :/ I was going to do a different design on each nail but I kept knocking the different base colours, and then they all took different times to dry so I decided on a Chrome, just because they take no time to dry!
Mini Haul!!! Santa was so good to me this year, especially Scotty-Santa. He went a bit crazy with it all :P But don't get me wrong, I appreciate that he likes to buy me nail stuff ^_^ He bought me the Beetle Juice collection, the Konad special polishes, the Konad plates, the Konad book of ideas, the China Glaze, the O.P.I. and a 4 set of O.P.I mini Muppets Holiday 2011 collection. Such a lucky girl ^_^ The rest of the goodies are from friends and family.

Looking forward to trying out that pink, it's more neon in real life.

Looking forward to this plate :D

I think the full size konad is a dark plum colour, but I'm not positive. Can't wait to try the white though!

Can't wait to try these beauties!!!

My First Jelly Sandwich!

I don't really have any glitter polishes that have a mix of sizes in, the closest thing I have is Rimmel - Disco Ball, but even then the glitters micro to small. So seeing all these pretty Jelly Sandwiches around, I decided to invest in a polish with large Holo glitter pieces in, I then decided to mix up a bunch into an empty mini bottle. I'm still lusting after something like Essence - Circus Confetti, or NYX - Carnival but it seems like it would be quite hard to get my hands on either of them :(

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Flormar - Neon Green N007 (2 coats)
Glitter: Franken
Another Coat of Flormar
Top Coat: China Glaze - No Chip Top Coat

And here's what I mixed up into a mini 17 Bottle
L-R: Barry M - Hologram Hexograms, Barry M - Pink Iridescent, Maybelline - Ice Princess, Rimmel - Disco Ball
I'm really not sure how I ended up with a line of glitter on my index finger, I guess I'm just unlucky hahaha. And I still feel like I need a glitter size in between Disco Ball and Holo Hex.

Mini Haul & Odd-Bling Leopard

Last week I took a trip with my parents to Chester-le-street (about half an hour drive I think) in hope of finding some nail goodies on the market there.

And I did, two very luminous (despite what the photo looks like) neon's from the market, and five others from Boyes. The market it's self was disappointing though very blah :(

It's a very rare occasion that I get to go to Boyes, I used to love Boyes as a kid, getting false nails and random makeup goodies, but that was when I was staying at the caravan with the family near Richmond, or visiting family in Northallerton / going to Darlington. I forgot how much I love that place!

On to the goodies :]]

L-R: Yssy - Name Is Unkown, Revlon - Minted, Color Craze - Power Outage, Yes Love - Neon Green,
Color Craze - Static Electricity, Rimmel - Milk Chocolate, Color Craze - Atomic
I picked the neon's up just for fun, and at 50p each I couldn't resist. From Boyes I first picked up the LA Color polishes and i wish i had gotten all the others they have by them. They're very jelly like in application and some don't cover my nail line too well with thin coats, but thicker coats aren't a drying problem.

I wish I'd bought Revlon - Minted when I was lusting after a mint, though streaking can be tricky it's so so so much nicer than Collection 2000's Mint Mojo. Though I still like the colour.

Base colour: LA Colors - Color Craze - Power Outage
Glitter: Mac - Crystalled Fuschia

Stamp colour: BYS - Black Satin
Plate: M57
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Top Coat - China Glaze - no chip top coat
What you can't see in the photo is that there's violet shimmer throughout this polish - so pretty. The glitter that I pressed on when the Polish was tacky is actually quite a bright pink that flashes Lime green & sometimes Lilac.
