BeYu - 209 -Brilliant Shiraz Swatches

Today I have some gorgeous swatches of BeYu - Brilliant Shiraz (209) This is another polish I won from Ingie over at Fyeahilovenails this is meant to be a dupe for the infamous Clarins 230 aka Unicorn Pee, but I have no real way of telling as I don't own it.

The polish itself is a fuchsia jelly with lots of micro shimmer that shifts from red to yellow to green. Sadly I couldn't see any green shimmer on the nail when I'd applied it :( Maybe I need to find the secret layering combo; or maybe I got a bad bottle.

Above is three thin coats, I could've gotten away with 2 if my nails were shorter, these are without base coat, and without top coat, I think a top coat would've made this look all squishy and delicious! Last pic's a bit out of focus, but I'd say it's more colour accurate.

This Is one coat of Rimmel - Black Satin & One coat of BeYu I love it so much over black, especially in the picture below when it's all shining red. Nom!

And for good measure here's a picture of Pickle & Jazz, and a cat statue thingy.

National Pet Week - We Stamp On Sundays

This week over at Adventures In Stamping the challenge theme is National Pet Week. I knew straight away what I was going to do as I'd just recieved some plates for review from The Born Pretty Store and was excited to use them. I will be doing a full stamping review of the two plates I got some time soon, so keep an eye out for that. For now though I used the little cat image from the S10 animal plate.

Base Coat: Nail RX - Stuck On You
Base Colours: Rimmel - Milk Chocolate
                        Rimmel - Tip Whitener
Sponged Colours: ELF - Desert Haze
                             Matalan G - Storm
Stamping Colour: Konad Special White
Image Plate: Born Pretty Store - S10
Top Coat: Models Own - 3 In 1

I started with Rimmel - Milk Chocolate, with an accent of Rimmel - Tip Whitener on my ring finger (which is god knows how many years old, but has been thinned so much now, it actually dries!) I sponged ELF - Desert Haze and Matalan G - Storm on Milk Chocolate, and Storm alone on the ring finger to represent Jazz, my grey and white cat. I then stamped with Konad Special White Polish, and added a top coat.

And as every stamping challenge goes here's what I used:

*This product was sent to me for review*
They also offered a 5% off coupon for my readers using code DS5X31

Catrice - Genius In The Bottle

Quick swatch for you guys today! Catrice - Genius In The Bottle is a dupe-ish for Chanel - Peridot, I say dupe-ish because comparisons I've seen It's not totally spot on. That being said, it is totally close enough for me as It's a gorgeous polish. I won this from Ingie over at fyeahilovenails.

Genius In The Bottle is a golden green, which can flash blue at certain angles (not really pictured sorry :P) but this is a very, very pretty polish. This is three thin coats, no base coat, no top coat. :]

Catrice - Genius In The Bottle

Happy Thursday!

Guest Post Over At Northern Nails!

Hey everyone! I know I've been a little bit quiet the last few days, but Scott has had a few days off work so we've been chilling watching films, 30 Rock and geeking it up (playing saints row / call of duty) :P So it's been nice :]

Today I thought I'd let you know about a guest post of mine for Jo over at Northern Nails. Apologies for the naff pictures, I was having a bad camera day :P

Base Coat: Nail RX - Stuck On You

The Sky's The Limit - We Stamp On Sundays

'The Sky's The Limit' was the challenge this week over at Adventures In Stamping. At first I had no idea what to do, or where to start. But then I decided to use the rainbow image from the second set of Bundle Monster plates that I've never tried. The idea was to stamp in white, over a cloudy looking base, but I painted my nails white, and then realised :P So it was time to attack a different plan of action.
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Rimmel - Tip Whitener
Sponged Colours: Essence - Speed Of Light Blue
                              George - Cloudless Sky
Stamping Colours: BYS - Black Satin
                              Konad Special White Polish
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM201
Glitter: Etos - Effect Nails 03-04
Rainbow Colours: Nail Art Pens
Top Coat: China Glaze - No Chip Top Coat
Here's the base of sponged colours before stamping, plus a coat of the little bottle of Etos glitter I won from Ingie, trying not to get the big pieces of glitter on the nail (which was extremely hard!)
Because my black stamping polish is starting to get a bit goopy it wouldn't pick up the image properly :( So I decided to mix a bit of black in with a stripe of white on the plate so the image would pick up. Then I decided to fill inthe rainbow =]
Then because it was feeling a tiny bit bumpy after top coat I decided to do a matte coat, which I am really loving. Looks so powdery and magical xD
Here's what I used:

Color Club - Ultra Astral, Flakies & Black Stamping

So today I have another colour that my camera hates. I won this from Ingie over at fyeahilovenails, and I've stamped over it using the plate that I won from Dashica Beauty.

Color Club - Ultra Astral is such an intense neon pink, like so bright it hurts my eyes & I looove it! Suspended in the base is holo glitter, which doesn't really sparkle, as it's hidden by the colour, this gives it a really interesting finish. This was my first Color Club polish and I really do love it, the formula's good, and it's unlike anything I've got in my collection. I want more!

Then because I've been flakie mad ever since my winnings from Ingie I layered over two coats of Golden Rose - Scale Effects 02 Look at that freaking beauty! Nomnom!

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Color Club - Ultra Astral
Flakies: Golden Rose Scale Effect - 02
Image Colour: BYS - Black Satin
Image Plate: Dashica Big SpD-A
Top Coat: Models Own - 3 In 1

I honestly think my camera was having a little fit at trying to capture all the crazy of this mani. I loooved wearing this combo, insanely bright, glitter, flakies, black trippy stamping. Love <3

Hope everyone's having a good Thursday!

Catrice Dirty Berry & Black Swirls

Hey hey hey! Today I have a polish that I won from Ingie over at fyeahilovenails, and I've stamped over it using the plate that I won from Dashica Beauty.

Now just before I got wind of the fact I'd won Ingie's giveaway I had seen quite a few posts with Catrice - Dirty Berry, and I really loved it, so when I realised I'd won it; I was very excited :P Downside though it's such a bitch to photograph :P This is my first real holo polish, it's not a linear holo, but its damn pretty. It also applies like liquid bliss, so smooth, the coverage is great, it's not thick; it's just perfect!

 Catrice - Dirty Berry - 2 coats.

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Catrice - Dirty Berry
Stamp Colour: BYS - Black Satin
Image Plate: Dashica Big SpD-A
Top Coat: Models Own - 3 In 1

These were really fun to wear, I feel like I should have changed the image placement up a bit, maybe using the smaller version of the same design on my ring fingers or something. Anyhooo I hope everyone's having  a decent Tuesday. I'm just looking forward to this week being over!

A Plate Ending In 5 - We Stamp On Sundays

This weeks challenge over at Adventures In Stamping was to use an image plate ending in 5. I'd actually just finished these when the voting was over and the challenge was announced so I figured I'd use these :]

I started with Frostbite as my base, and sponged on a no name bronze to the tips before stamping with black. I think the bronze polish is called Elyse but it's hard to tell as the name's rubbed off. I think this polish is like 5 years old :P

Base Coat: Nail RX - Stuck On You
Base Colour: China Glaze - Frostbite
Tip Colour: Elyse - Bronze (not sure)
Stamp Colour: BYS - Black Satin
Image Plate: Konad M65
Top Coat: China Glaze - No Chip Top Coat

And for good measure here's a picture of Miss Cheesy, being totally distracted by the reflection from the image plate on the wall when I was taking bottle shots. Her tongue looks so weird!

Revlon Teak Rose Swatches

Just a little quick post today, I'm trying to catch up with the back log of mani's I have.

So yes, Teak Rose is quite a strange polish, it's a dusky pink that reminds me of dark terracotta... It's very odd. This is one of the better Revlon formulas I've tried, the best so far is Emerald City, but I think that's because of the matte formula. What you're seeing below is three coats, please excuse the dings and any tip wear, I was mid wii fit, when then sun came out so I slapped on another coat to try and hide any wear... but then I knocked them :P
Revlon - Teak Rose
I swear this polish photographs more pink than in real life, I thought the polish matched these tiles on the sittingroom windowsills.

Barielle - Elle's Spell Swatches

Today I have some swatches of Barielle - Elle's Spell. I never got the chance to swatch it by itself, but from the two coats I did on my thumb I think I'd need about four to make it opaque (I'm a thin coat kinda girl). So Here it is, two coats; over a coat of Barry M - Raspberry. I freaking love this polish, apart from the fact it dries a bit slow.

This is a pinkish red jelly packed with red/orange flakes that shine green at times, and in the bottle you get some blue glimpses too.
Base Colours: Barry M - Raspberry
Barielle - Elle's Spell

I loved these matte, I'm yet to wear this polish for more than a day as I love stamping, and have a hard time stamping over stunners like this. xD When I got this I didn't think any of the green would translate on the nail, but in real life you do get glimpses.

Peach & Green Using Dashica Big SpD-A

Bit of an odd combo today, but I really loved the shimmer against the creme. This was done with Dashica's Big SpD-A double stamping one of the images, turning it around. I can't believe I forgot to take photos of the base colour, but all I know the formula and the brush was a total PITA. I should've spent an extra quid on a Barry M instead I think.
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Beauty UK - Peach Melba
Stamping Colour: Revlon - Emerald City
Image Plate: Dashica Big SpD-A
Top Coat: Models Own - 3 In 1
Last photo's a bit out of focus but you can see the shimmer from Emerald City more clearly. I almost feel like I should've stamped something else over these...

Unnatural Animals - We Stamp On Sundays

So because I got a bit behind on this week I had majority of yesterday to plan something to do. I had thought to do something inspired by a pair of socks I own, but they are leopard print, and I'd done leopard print recently so that idea was scrapped. Then I settled on some sort of rainbow cow print, but they turned out pants. So I settled on rainbow zebra or tiger, even though I used the stamp a couple of weeks back :P
Base Coat: Nail RX - Stuck On You
Base Colour: Sally Hansen - White On
Stamping Colours: Rimmel - Purple Reign
Clubworks - Neon orange & Pink
                              Deborah - Turquoise Fever
                              Miss Sporty - 346
                              George - Buttercup
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM223
Top Coat: China Glaze - No Chip Top Coat

I started with a base of white, and used my usual mixing method for multicoloured stamping. As always on Sunday; here's what I used :]

Can't even describe how fun these are :D I keep staring at my nails. I think I'm going to wear these until I have the serious itch to change my mani. Hope everyone's having a good Sunday! :]
