Matte Glitter Tape Mani

Hi all!

I can't believe It's been so long since my last post! Happy New Year! I don't have any real excuses for lack of blogging other than being a bad blogger! :( Apologies.

This is a mani from the back end of November. I wanted something quick and simple for a night out, and as I was (still am) obsessed with Nicole by OPI - A-Nise Treat I really wanted to use it in conjunction with a nudienudie creme. So I reached for another favourite, Barry M - Lychee.

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Barry M - Lychee
Base V-Moon: W7 - Night Suede
I started by painting two coats of Lychee, and then after a shower (to avoid the tape pulling up the base) I cut triangles into the tape and placed it on the nail; painting over with W7 - Night Suede. I did this to try and establish what kind of shape I would be left with so I could then go in with striping tape and NOPI - A-Nise Treat to even out the length of the triangles, and add that loooovely matte glitter.

Here's before adding the glitter and making things much more even, and this pic shows the colours better where there's light, and my hands aren't freezing as I was waiting for a Metro for 25 minutes!

iPhone pics definitely do not do this manicure justice. I really loved wearing these as they were so bold.

Hope you've all had a good start to the year :]

Pink Stamped With Chrome Half Moon + Bullions

I had no idea what to title this, I love the idea of this mani, but not the execution; and I don't really think it's very me. Oh and bullion beads... you annoying little gits!

Base Coat: Nail RX - Stuck On You
Base Colour: La Femme - Pink Creme
Stamp Colour: N.Y.C - Foil For You
Image Plate: Konad M79
Gold Bullion Beads
Top Coat: Models Own - 3 In 1

From this angle the curve doesn't look wonky ;]

Hope everyone's having a good day. I haven't had a chance to catch up with blog posts, but I shall be doing that tomorrow :]

Half Moon & Holly

These are actually similar to what I wore last Christmas; on the day. Although it wasn't a half moon mani, it was just Sally Hansen - White On, with Maybelline - Ice Princess, and the holly stamped, with.. who knows; cause that's a long time ago :P

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colours: Rimmel - French Rose &  Sally Hansen - White On
Glitter: Maybelline Colorama - Ice Princess
Silver Line: China Glaze - Millennium
Stamp Colours: George - Meteorite & Rimmel - Celebrity Bash
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM14 (Original Set)
Top Coat: China Glaze - No Chip Top Coat

Just to show why I'm ever faithful to this glitter for my micro glitter needs xD

So I started with two coats of Rimmel - French Rose, and used hole reinforcement stickers to create the half moon shape when French Rose was dry. Then I painted Sally Hansen - White On, and removed the stickers while the polish was still wet. Next a coat of Maybelline Colorama - Ice Princess, and when that was dry I stamped the Holly using Bundle Monster plate BM14, and George - Meteorite, & Rimmel - Celebrity Bash. Originally I was going to paint the half moon line with my Gold Citadel Paint but now I'm glad I couldn't find it, as I think it might have looked god awful :P So I used China Glaze - Millennium, and finished with my usual top coat.

I only needed one coat of White On, with touch up to only one nail. Which is a surprise as normally I need 2-3 coats for full nail coverage. At the start of this bottle I only needed 2 coats for full opacity, but as it's getting older, and emptier it's getting a little harder to work with. Even though I've thinned it once or twice already. So having two coats of a faster drying French Rose must really help.

Nude Gold & Red Half Moons, With New Dotting Tools

My dotting tools from eBay arrived the other day; and as I only had a little time to do my nails so I figured a half moon Mani with some dots along the line would be a good idea. Especially as I'd already got a dry base colour from the night before.

When I picked up this colour from No7 it was when the £5 off voucher was going around, and it was a toss up between a similar colour, but So Simple seemed more opaque.

Honestly, I'm not a massive fan of this shade of nude on me, and I wonder when I'll find my "mannequin hands" shade. It looks okay as the half moon, but to cover the full nail it's pretty pants.

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colours: No7 - So Simple
                     Barry M - Raspberry
Gold: Citadel - Shining Gold (Warhammer Paint)
Top Coat: China Glaze Top Coat

Dotting Tools, Large, Medium Small & Tiiiny (I used the blue, and yellow one from my pack)

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour - No7 - So Simple (3 coats)

Without all the gold.

When I got these I thought the largest end would be much larger (not that it needs to be) and that I'd have more of a range in sizes. But looking closely at the pic of all the sizes below, I do have quite a range. These were such a bargain too, costing me £1.06 and free postage, if anyone would like a linky link. let me know :]
And another pic of the end result :]

Niece's Nails & My Half Moon Mani With Nailene Stickers

I've been meaning to do a post about this for a while now. Somewhere around the start of August my brother came over with his girlfriend and her daughter, and when she saw me doing my nails, you could tell she wanted hers done too. She picked the polish and the image plate, which was a plate full of tips, but she has teeny tiny nails so the whole thing covered her nails. Painting tiny nails isn't so easy! Not my best handy work.

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: BYS - Voodoo Violet (1 Coat)
Stamp Colour: N.Y.C.- Techno Foil
Plate: Bundle Monster BM220
Top Coat: Rimmel - 10 Day wear

And on to my nails! She sent me some Nailene stickers for my birthday. Which I got after I was done house sitting, so I wanted to do a mani with them :]

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colours: George - Cloudless Sky & BYS - Pouty Purple
Nailene Stickers
& I Used Hole Reinforcement Stickers

Coral Flower Pick 'n' Mix

I'm enjoying the fact the sun has decided to come back out a little here and there, after a rather miserable looking week. So I felt like wearing some brighter colours. I was feeling a tad more creative than recently so I decided to go for a Pick 'N' Mix type Mani :]

Excuse the tip wear!

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Natural Collection - Antique Coral
Stamp Colour: Rimmel White

Index Finger: Plate M64

Middle Finger: Flowers Painted With Acrylic Paint
Gold Dots: H&M - Wa Wa Woom

Ring Finger: Rimmel French Colour For Half Moon
Pearls: Bought From The Pound Shop
Plate: BM16

Little Finger: Lines Drawn With White Paint
Glitter: Nail Art Pen - Ebay

I think by the time I got around to the little finger I'd almost ran out of ideas.

Silver Half Moons

So this Is my first ever half moon mani. Well the first one I've been satisfied enough with, that I left it on.
I still need a lot of practice, even though I used hole reinforcers to mask off the half moon area.

China Glaze - Millennium
Rimmel - Celebrity Bash
In direct sunlight the red still looked streaky after three coats, but maybe If I'd used a pastel shade, and then the red It would've helped.
