Valentines Day - We Stamp On Sundays

Hi all, I'm totally not feeling valentines day this year surprise surprise. So while this week's challenge over at Adventures In Stamping is for Valentines Day stamping, you guys get my nails from last year that I never posted.

This time last year I was getting ready for an interview, and planning what to take to Edinburgh. I had planned these nails before hand, but then it got really late the day before we traveled so I rushed them.
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Colours Used: Models Own - Pastel Pink
                          MUA - Shade 20
                          La Femme - Pink Creme
                         Sally Hansen - White On
                         Clubworks - Fuchsia
                         OPI - Excuse Moi
Nail Art Pens: White Green & Pink
Green Acrylic Paint
Striping Tape
Stamping Polishes: Konad Special White
                             BYS - Black Satin
Image Plates: Bundle Monster BM03, BM08,
                     Konad M60
Top Coat: China Glaze - No Chip Top Coat
Forgive me for the quality of the picture and the rushed job. Oddly the guy at Edinburgh Dungeons who takes the photos when you're in the stock with an axe complimented me on these.

Hope you've all had a good weekend. I spent my Friday night chilling, and my Saturday back and forth to the bathroom feeling like I was going to be sick :( Gladly I feel better today.

Orange, Blue & White Stamping

Jeez, I can't believe I've not posted since Tuesday, I got confuddled and thought I was doing a guest post today so didn't get a post together, my bad =P

So of course, more stamping with the amazing plate I won from Dashica Beauty, as soon as I seen this image I knew I wanted to do it with orange white and blue, I'm not sure why though. But as it turns out it feels like it has a little bit of an 80's vibe to it, or mabye 60's something retroish anyways.

Base Coat: Nail RX - Stuck On You
Index: No7 - Poolside Blue, stamped with Konad Wite
Middle: Sally Hansen White On, stamped with Rimmel - POP!
Ring: Sally Hansen - White On, stamped with No7 Poolside Blue
Pinky: Rimmel - Pop!, stamped with Konad White
Image plate: Dashica Big SpD-A
Top Coat: Models Own - 3 In 1

I wish I'd just done white and stamped with the blue and orange, as the pinky looks red ¬_¬

And for good measure another kitty pic, Cheese was perving on this huuuge wood pigeon, seriously this is a bad perspective, it was bigger than her! Excuse the murky photo too - it was taken though a window.

Happy Friday ^-^

Pink & Red Roses Using Dashica Big SpD - A, And Cupcakes!

I feel like I've fallen behind! I've spent so much time this week looking at cake and frosting recipes for Scott's Birthday, that I've only just looked at what the stamping challenge is for this week, so after Scott goes off to work this afternoon I'm gonna try and plan some crazy unnatural animal nails, and hope there's decent light tomorrow for photos xD Anyhoo! Enough of that rant, and on to the nails.

So these are also from a few weeks ago. I'm slightly annoyed with myself not posting things, I've been playing with this plate that I won from Shirley over at Dashica Beauty for an age now. And I looove It, I only have one downside, the images are so large (which is obviously awesome for those with bigger nails) that I have a hard time picking how to put the image on my iddy biddy pinky. I know.. not a problem at all :P I love this plate!

Base Coat:CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Sally Hansen - White On
Stamping Colours: LA Colors - Power Outage
Rimmel - Celebrity Bash
Image Plate: Dashica Big SpD-A
Top Coat: Models Own - 3 In 1

Slighty annoyed at how these photos turned out. I used my typical mixing method to use these two polishes, and in real life you could see the shimmer and the violet shimmer from Power Outage on the nail.

And I finally decided to try out the new scanner, so here's a scan of the plate. Granted; it has some wear and tear, and I couldn't get it as shiny as when it was new :P

So Many pretties to try!

And.. For an even longer post; I'd like to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCOTTIUS!

Scott's Birthday cupcake, chocolate cake, chocolate chips, peanut butter frosting, chocolate sprinkles, popping candy, and the lolly from the popping candy packet just for funsies. xD
Vanilla cupcakes, morello cherry jam frosting & sprinkles.
Peanut butter ones are chocolate cake, chocolate chips, with morello cherry in the centre, with peanut butter frosting and sprinkles. Crazy grey ones are Scott's invention. Vanilla cake, Eristoff Black - Wild Berry flavour and Blueberry jam frosting with sprinkles =] I hope everyone's having a good weekend so far =]

The Flash Nails Using KKcenterHk Water Decals

So on Tuesday I showed you some water decals that I was sent for review from KKcenterHk. Today I will be showing you the second idea I had when selecting the comic style water decals. Again I used WDDC061 for these :]

Base Coat: Nail RX - Stuck On You
Base Colour: Barry M - Bright Red
Sponged Colour: OPI - Wocka Wocka
White: Sally Hansen - White On
Water Decals: From KKCenterHk
Top Coat: Models Own - 3 In 1
I started with the base of Bright Red, and then sponged on Wocka Wocka to try and give it that costume feel. I used the center of a hole reinforcement sticker to paint on a white circle, and then with a small brush I did another layer of polish to try and make the circle slightly larger.

Really though, any time I hear "The Flash" all I think of is The Big Bang Theory, and Sheldon being hyped up on coffee :D Keeping in mind I sometimes run about the house when possibly hyper on coffee saying "Zoom zoom zoom"... Don't judge me, I like acting like a big kid behind closed doors! :P

If you're interested in anything in the store use coupon code: goldspecknails for 10% off, this code is valid until January 31st, 2013.

*This product was sent to me for review

Inspired By Music - We Stamp On Sundays

This weeks challenge over at Adventures In Stamping was a mani inspired by music. I was not thrilled about this challenge as it seemed harrrrrrd ;( I listened to all my favourite songs, Googled the album artwork of every band I like.. And just got bummed out by how my good ideas would only work if I bought new image plates, and that was just not happening :P So I didn't really push myself, but I loved the outcome, though I almost feel like I should have spaced the cherries out more, or only did one cherry.

The band I chose is Cherry Ghost. They've been a favourite of mine for something like five years. My personal email address comes from one of their songs, and they are incredible live. There's something I truly love about Simon Aldred's accent.

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colours: Rimmel - Black Satin
                        Sally Hansen - White On
Stamping Colours: Gosh - Berry Me
                              George - Meteorite
                              Konad White
Glitter: Maybelline Colorama - Ice Princess
Image Plates Used: Bundle Monster BM223, Konad M48
Top Coat: Models Own - 3 In 1

This is gonna be a scheduled post as It's going to be Earth Day, I'm not gonna do the usual of spending a few hours after posting to read blogs, I'll just catch up on Monday! I also had a pretty horrific Friday, so I've spent all day today (Saturday) feeling sorry for myself, having lots of hot chocolate, watching goofy films to try and cheer myself up and indulging in craptastic food. Not paying attention to any calories means Sunday will mainly be spent on wii fit and dance games to try and make myself feel better for a crap diet week, and an even worse Friday.

I shall leave you with a funny pic of Cheese, using her favourite method of entrance - my bedroom window. Look at her little cheetah belly! & That's how dirty the window gets in a day when it's raining outside.

Spring Challenge - Day 8 - Easter Nails

Today's nails for the Spring Challenge are Easter nails. For these I had a few ideas, and knew I wanted to do a Pick 'n' Mix / Skittles mani. I got the idea for the Mini Eggs from Emily's Nail Files with this great tutorial. At first I wasn't really feeling the colour combination I had going on, but changed some things around, and after the 3 days I had them on I'd grown to love them.

Don't forget to check out Esme's Blog to see what she came up with for today!

Base Coat: Nail RX - Stuck On You
Base Colours: Models Own - Utopia & Pastel Pink
Free Hand Colours: Revlon - Minted
                                Mini M&S - Yellow
                                W7- Suede
                                Models Own - Pastel Pink
                                Sally Hansen - White On
Stamp Colour: Konad White
Image Plate: BM19
Top Coat: Models Own - 3 In 1

Then I added a matte top coat to make everything soft :]

April Fools Non Stamping - We Stamp On Sunday

Today's challenge over at Adventures In Stamping was to do a mani without stamping as a sort of April Fools' Day mani.

I was thinking about doing these at the start of the week; but didn't really know when I'd post them as I don't like posting every day and what have you. So when I heard the challenge was a non stamping one I figured it would be a perfect time ^-^
Base Coat: Nail RX - Stuck On You
Base Colour: W7 - Suede
Lines: Acrylic Paints
Tips: Sally Hansen - White On
George - Mischief & Manhattan - Lemonade mixed for the yolk

Nomnomn. I love Creme Eggs. However I love mini ones as the regular ones are way too sickly for me.

I hope everyone's having a good weekend :]

Half Moon & Holly

These are actually similar to what I wore last Christmas; on the day. Although it wasn't a half moon mani, it was just Sally Hansen - White On, with Maybelline - Ice Princess, and the holly stamped, with.. who knows; cause that's a long time ago :P

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colours: Rimmel - French Rose &  Sally Hansen - White On
Glitter: Maybelline Colorama - Ice Princess
Silver Line: China Glaze - Millennium
Stamp Colours: George - Meteorite & Rimmel - Celebrity Bash
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM14 (Original Set)
Top Coat: China Glaze - No Chip Top Coat

Just to show why I'm ever faithful to this glitter for my micro glitter needs xD

So I started with two coats of Rimmel - French Rose, and used hole reinforcement stickers to create the half moon shape when French Rose was dry. Then I painted Sally Hansen - White On, and removed the stickers while the polish was still wet. Next a coat of Maybelline Colorama - Ice Princess, and when that was dry I stamped the Holly using Bundle Monster plate BM14, and George - Meteorite, & Rimmel - Celebrity Bash. Originally I was going to paint the half moon line with my Gold Citadel Paint but now I'm glad I couldn't find it, as I think it might have looked god awful :P So I used China Glaze - Millennium, and finished with my usual top coat.

I only needed one coat of White On, with touch up to only one nail. Which is a surprise as normally I need 2-3 coats for full nail coverage. At the start of this bottle I only needed 2 coats for full opacity, but as it's getting older, and emptier it's getting a little harder to work with. Even though I've thinned it once or twice already. So having two coats of a faster drying French Rose must really help.

Steph's Vegas Inspired Nails

I did these a few weeks ago, inspired by a photo I seen on google while I was looking for vegas themed nails and stuff, but now I can't find the image ;(

I'm still not really gettting any better and taking photos of other peoples nails, but I think I have some ideas for the next time I do her nails.

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Sally Hansen - White On
I then placed small strips of tape, and painted over them with BYS - Black Satin
For rounding off corners and lettering I used Red & Black acyrilic paint
The little red gem was from a Broadway pack of gems my friend Vicki got me :]
Top Coat: China Glaze - No Chip Top Coat
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: BYS - Black Satin
Nail Studs: 2mm Silver Nail Heads
Top Coat: China Glaze - No Chip Top Coat
I apparently can't draw clubs for the life of me :P Happy Bonfire/Guy Fawkes Night!

Mummy Nails

I feel like I have been lacking in the Halloween nails department, usually I jump right on it as soon as it's October but for some reason this year I haven't. I've changed my mind about my costume this year though so I'll have more free time to do my nails, rather than making a bag from scratch, or dyeing a wig with sharpies... So hopefully more Halloween goodness to come :]

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - White On
Black Nail Art Pen
White & Black Acrylic Paint (Eyes)
Rimmel - Pop! (Eyes)
Top Coat: China Glaze - No Chip Top Coat
I really could've done with another two topcoats, my nail art pens are starting to die and always leave a chunky texture.

Disturbia Trip Nails

So for probably 3 months I've been wanting to do some Disturbia Clothing inspired nails, and I finally got around to doing them. I've been a fan of Disturbia clothing ever since I found out about them from my good friend Miss. Roy :]

Me and my boyfriend have 18 T-shirts from them, at the last count, and it's sure to be more tomorrow, as we're attending the Autumn/Winter collection Launch Party, at their new location.

Onto the nails!
Left Hand
Right Hand

And a better shot of the Diamond
What was used:
Sally Hansen - White On
L.A. Colours - Static Electricity
Barry M - Grey & Lemon Ice Cream
Collection 2000 - Button Moon
M&S - Mini Pink
Nail Art Pens - Blue Shimmer, Yellow Shimmer & Black
Acrylic Paints - White, Black &  Deep Blue
Mac Glitter - Fuchsia
Striping Tape, Brushes & an Orange Stick.

And here is the T-shirt that inspired me:

Diamonds may be a girls best friend, but they are not mine! I love diamond nail art, but it was such a pain in the bum to do on my right hand, after a few failed attempts, my boyfriend helped me out with the outline (thank god :p) These took many hours to do, and I'm not sure if that's because I like to chill and take my time, or because I was watching back to back Awkward, and other shows. However, I still love them, And they're holding up pretty well for doing them on Sunday.
