Barry M - Black Multi Glitter & Gosh - Holographic Hero Plastic Wrap Nails

Hi all, Tuesday yay!

Some simple nails for you lot today. I feel like I've not really been doing much stamping recently, and I've not had time for the Sunday challenges over at Adventures In Stamping so I've been loving easy to-do bases, with the hopes I get to stamp over before I get any tip wear. Usually I just end up wearing these plain-ish nails for most of the week.

I started with two coats of Barry M - Black Multi Glitter, which is still a favourite of mine, and then painted on Gosh - Holographic Hero to a scrunched up ball of clingfilm/saran wrap, and dabbed the nails. I love how it gives a foil effect.

The glitter in Black Multi Glitter would have shown it's face more If I'd added a top coat.

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Barry M - Black Multi Glitter
Other Colour: Gosh - Holographic Hero

I think the contrast of the black with the holo made it seem brighter. I may try this again with various holographic colours over a dark base.

Hope you've all had a good day so far. I'm just tucking into some noodles on my lunch break. Nom!

My First Cloud Mani!

Very quick post from me today! I was just about to turn the laptop off when I remembered I needed to make a blog post! My bad!

This was my very first cloud mani (in fact only cloud mani so far) and while I was fairly happy with the results I was disappointed in a few things that I know to tweak next time.

I've been wanted to do a cloud mani for aaaaages now ever since stumbling across Nailside. I stumbled across Jane's blog following pictures from Tumblr of lightning bolt tape manicures and wondering how the heck all her mani's look so perfect. She's incredibly talented, and just has the cleanest lines evahh!

Now; the photo as I'm going to climb into bed and watch Bad Education and possibly sleep (yes it is only half 8!)
Base Coat: La Femme
Base Colour: Barry M - Black Multi Glitter
Other Colours: Barry M - Gold Foil
Deborah - Turquoise Fever
Top Coat: Rimmel 60 Seconds - Clear
So things I would change for next time would mainly be leaving more of the middle colour visible. And being more careful about colours bleeding. The gold foil left some little glittery streaks.

Anyhoo! I hope you're all having a nice Friday night!

Batman Nails

Hi all! Happy Birthday to me!

I say this sounding upbeat because Cheese is home, and seems alright. We've still got to watch her, and make sure she's acting normal (so far she is) but she's got to stay in the house for a week, so all morning every now and then you can just her; a very annoyed Cheese growling at the door :P

Thank you all for your comments yesterday.

So yes, these are the nails I did for seeing The Dark Night Rises. Using more of the water decals I got sent to try at the start of the year from KKCentreHK.
Base Coat: La Femme
Base Colours: Rimmel - Black Satin (2 coats)
Index, Middle, & Pinky: Barry M - Black Multi Glitter (1 coat)
Batman Decal: KKCentreHK - WDDC061
Gold Glitter: Sinful Colors - Paris
Top Coat: Sally Hansen - Advanced Hard As Nails

Nice shot of Barry M - Black Multi Glitter

So it was only when I was editing these photos I realised the Batman waterdecal was slighty off centre. But they looked fine in person I think. On my thumb I wore Rimmel - Black Satin, the glitter gradient with Sinful Colors - Paris & then had a Batman water decal too, as I had enough room for it not to look weird.

A Few Swatches

Swatches today! So we have Barry M - Black Multi Glitter, Paris Memories - 228, and a nameless FCUK polish that I got a while back, which I really want to try with stamping as it's so opaque.

First up is the FCUK polish. It's a gorgeous deep purple with blue shimmer. It looks a tad bluer in these photos than in real life. Two coats; no top coat:

Next up is a single shot of Paris Memories - 228. It's such a runny polish I decided to layer it over black as it would never be opaque on its own. This is 2 coats of black, and one coat of Paris Memories on super-shorites! I love the effect this polish has.
And lastly, a polish that slightly disappointed. I thought Barry M - Black Multi Glitter was going to be amazeballs. Looking at the bottle, and the one swatch shot I found at the time of purchase I was expecting the micro glitter to be more visible on the nail. But I guess macro shots make glitter prettier. That being said, my swatches suck. But I have some better sparkle shots from my batman nails that i'll be posting soon :]
It had a slightly gritty texture before top coat, and the glitter didn't shine at all
This is two coats, no top coat, the other two pictures have a coat of China Glaze - No Chip Top Coat
My ring finger, you can see more of the colours.
Ah! Look at the party in the bottle, shame about it not being so much of a party on my nails. But it's still pretty, even though it's subtle.

Well there's today's swatches :] On Saturday you'll be graced with the presence of my friend Vicki's nails, or maybe tomorrow, depending how much concentration I have left in me :P

I hope you're all having a good Thursday ^-^

June Haul!

So after basically a year of not buying polishes for myself, and any new additions were because of Scott buying some for me, I went a little wild this month ^-^ In fact I've just realised I've missed out two polishes, but never mind!

FCUK Bronze & Blue Purple, they don't have a name or number.
LA Colors - Current, Force & Radiation
Sinful Colours - Paris, See You soon & Daddy's Girl
Barry M - Multi Black Glitter, Rimmel - Night Before, Miss Sporty - Fatal Plum & Raindrop, Models Own - Slate Green.
When I got home after buying these I realised these two were quite similar, but Night Before has more red shimmer (you can't really see the shimmer in Fatal Plum) but when I tested them on my nails Fatal Plum Is so opaque compared to Night Before.
And a close up of Barry M - Black Multi Glitter. I didn't even know this existed until a few weeks back when I went to go buy one for a swap I'm doing, and yesterday I finally bought one for myself. It's so pretty.
