Models Own - Emerald Black & Pinky Brown Layering

Hi all,

Smallest of posts today with a quick pic of Models Own - Emerald Black (2 coats) and Pinky Brown (1 coat).

I wore these for about a week whilst I was busying myself trying to figure out how to decorate my room back in July.  I think I had forgotten how much I love Pinky brown's colour shift.

Models Own - Black Emerald & Pinky Brown

Hope you've all had a good weekend - I've had a proper lovely chilled one getting stuff ready for Halloween and lazing on the sofa with my boyfriend,  Love these cosy nights in!

Barry M - Bright Purple & Flakie Layering

Hi all.

It's Saturday! Woop! Small post from me today as I still have to unpack from when I got back on Monday!

Today we have the combination of Barry M - Bright Purple & Essence Nail Colour 3 - City That Never Sleeps. It's a pretty combination but nothing that made me stare at my nails for more than a few minutes.  Ever since I did this combination, layering tends to be the sort of thing I do if I don't have time to decide on an image to stamp. I don't think I'll ever get sick of flakies, especially when they're in a tinted base, as then the combinations are truly endless.
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Barry M - Bright Purple
Flakies: Essence - Nail Colour 3 - City That Never Sleeps

Blurry last pick but you can see the kind of frost the flakies give to this. I thought I would have some swatch shots somewhere of Bright Purple but I don't!

Hope you all have a good Saturday, and I shall be back tomorrow for Adventures In Stamping - If I don't have too much tequila tonight ;)

Fake Tattoos Nail Tattoo Review

Happy Wednesday guys :]

Today I have a post reviewing some nail tattoos that I was kindly sent to try out a while back now. I've yet to do more than this one mani with them, but I will definitely be trying out the others from the packet when I get a chance.

These nail tattoos are from a company called Fake Tattoos and like the large selection of tattoos they offer on their site, these can be used on the body too.

On to the mani I created with some of these fake tattoos, and I will show you what else they sent, and wht you can expect to see in the future.

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Barry M - Lychee
Two Coats Of: Sally Hansen - Pink Rose Diamond
Polka Dots: Kiko - Jewel Pink
Tattoos: Fake Tattoos
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails
With Flash
As you can see the holographic sparkle shines through the bow a little which I really like.

Here's what they sent me:
I think next I'll try the moustaches, or the owls! There's so much detail in those owls!
And here's the nude holographic base I created using Barry M - Lychee & and two coats of Sally Hansen - Pink Rose Diamond. I've always wanted a holographic nude so I'm quite happy with this!

The tattoos were really easy to use. I messed up the first one on a thumb by soaking the paper before it was on the nail (don't ask me why I decided to go about things backwards!) but after trimming the paper around the image pressing it to the nail (the tattoos like all other temporary tattoos are a little tacky) then soaking the paper these work an absolute dream! So easy to use, and like water decals and stickers pretty much dry instantaneously.

Have you ever tried using these kind of nail tattoos?

**These were sent to me for consideration of reivew**

Purple and Gold Matte Bananas

Hi all, happy Wednesday.

By the time this posts I'll be on my way home, to the cinema, or to finally get the new piercing I want!

These were kind of a pleasant surprise, I'd done the base coat and the glitter to just wear for work, and then after work I was going through my Cheeky plates trying to see which ones weren't working and I decided to stamp with Barry M - Gold Foil, with these really cute bananas.

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour:  Miss Sporty - Fatal Plum
Glitter: LA Colors - Sassy Sparkle
Stamp Colour: Barry M - Gold Foil
Image Plate: Cheeky CH42
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails
Matte: Rimmel - Matte Finish
Here's it with a top coat:

And here's a shot of the pretty glitter in action.

Unfortunately the glitter was super gloopy, so I had to thin it out loads before use, and that's all from me today :]

W7 - Red & Barry M - Pink Sapphire Glitter

Hi All

Just a quickie post today, I'm feeling vile, and the interenet is being hit and miss at the moment, so I'm grabbing it while it's working! Simple red base, and glitter today.

This is a pretty boring combo but it was getting late when I did these and I needed my nails painted for work the next day. While I like the look of bar glitters it always bugs me when I wear them as they just do whatever they please. Maybe I should have used another coat to even things out.

And that's all from me, I'm gonna go get into bed and watch a film while painting my nails.

NOPI - Jade In The Shade & Technic - Mermaid Swatches

Happy Saturday guys! Hope you've enjoyed yours as much as I've enjoyed mine (spent it internet shopping... and bought nothing, aha!)

Small post today, just some swatches from a few weeks back. Nicole by OPI - Jade In The Shade is a pretty blue metallic that sometimes has a bit of an aqua look to it, it's the kind of colour that you can get from pretty much any brand, nothing special. The formula on this isn't great, and these pictures show three coats.

And this is with one coat of Technic - Mermaid
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Nicole by OPI - Jade In The Shade
Glitter: Technic - Mermaid
Top Coat: Rimmel 60 Seconds Clear

Pretty pretty, I think it'd look great over a dark blue creme.

That's it from me. I'll be back tomorrow for the Adventures In Stamping challenge :]

2true Glitterati Shade 1 - Sapphire

Hi all, no Adventures In Stamping post for me today as I just didn't get round to it.

So instead you can have a couple of swatch shots of a polish that's unique to my stash. This is two coats over black with a top coat. I still haven't tried this by its self, but its really pretty for layering. and it dries really quickly too. Its a blueish base, with fine blue micro glitter, silver hex glitter, and iridescent hex glitter that flashes blue and green.
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: W7 - Black
Glitter: 2true Glitterati Shade 1 - Sapphire
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails

It was kind of hard to capture the iridescent flashes that a lot of the glitters in this have, just look to the bottle for what kind of other colour flashes you get while wearing this.

That's all for me today I'm afraid.

** This product was sent to me for possible review**

H&M Snow White Skittles - Glitter & Stamping

Hi all, happy Tuesday!

No doubt by the time this posts I'll be powering through work not even realising the time!

This is a mani I did a week or so back, with the H&M polishes that I won from Rainbowify Me. Make Me Blush Is the nicest peach I've ever found with my skin tone, and although the formula is a little runny, the coverage is amazing. Nothing like the dreaded Revlon Peach Smoothie. I decided Snow white would look quite cool over black, so I've used that layering combo for my ring finger. Also the Silver Frost is a lot nice than it looks here, the flash on my camera kind of kills the lightness that the glitter gave to the mani.
Base Coat: CND Stickey
Index & Pinky: H&M - Make Me Blush & Silver Frost
Middle: Three Coats of H&M - Snow White
Ring: W7 - Black & One coat of Snow White
Image Plate: Born Pretty Store QA5
Stamp Colour: BYS - Black Satin
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails

I did a gradient on my thumb using Make Me Blush, and W7- Blackm topping with two coats of Silver Frost
And here's a couple shots of the base colours themselves.
Index & Pinky: Two coats of H&M - Make Me Blush
Middle: Three Coats of H&M - Snow White
Ring: W7 - Black & One coat of H&M - Snow White
Please excuse the lobster hands in the next photo, but it really shows how bright Snow White is even in horrible lighting.
Snow white is really much more than a silvery white frost, it's really beautiful in decent light, and I'm going to try and capture that this weekend if I can.

Hope you've all had a good start to the week :]

Kiko - Light Grape & Sally Hansen - Purple Diamond With Stamping

Hi all.

Hope you're having a good Tuesday. This was going to be a scheduled post but i'm off work today as I'm feeling icky :( So i'm snug in bed watching the snow coming down :]

On a happier note.. I have holographic goodness for you today! First up is the stamping and then I'll show you the swatches. No sun shots i'm afraid, so just lots of blurry photos trying to capture the holo with only a flash!
Base coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Kiko - Light Grape
Holo: Sally Hansen - Purple Diamond
Stamp Colour: BYS - Black Satin
Image Plate: Dashica Big SpD-A
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails

Above is one coat of Sally Hansen - Purple Diamond over two coats of Kiko - Light Grape.
How pretty is Light Grape?!

But yeah, I hope you're having a great day :]

The Polish Bar - Violet Sky

Hey all! Happy Thursday! So close to the weekend I can taste it! hehe.

Small post today to showcase The Polish Bar - Violet Sky. This is two coats over Manhattan - 67n.

I really love the combination of glitters in this one, and I imagine the purple glitter would really pop on a different base, which is something i'm going to try in the future, maybe in one of my Christmas mani's as I find this quite festive in the snowy sense :]

I hope everyone's had a good week so far, mine as flown by but I suppose that is what happens when you're only looking forward!

Green Flakie Argyle

Hi all!

Quick post today, another mani from at least a month back now, this lack of daylight is starting to really annoy me! Also the flakies, and Diamond Drops looked so much better in proper sunlight, but there was literally not a sprinkle around when I had my camera near by.
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Kiko - 296 - Meadow Green
Flakies; Catrice - C04 - Shake It! Flakie It!
Rainbow Shards: Color Club - Diamond Drops
Stamp Colour: Konad Special White
Image Plate: Konad M60
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails

I probably could have done with two coats of Catrice - Shake It! Flake It! I would have used two if I wasn't going to add Color Club - Diamond Drops, and then stamp too.

So above is two coats of Kiko - Meadow Green. Not really much to say on this, the formula was amazing, which is a running theme with every single Kiko i've ever tried. The colour's glossy and bright and evens out on the nail so nicely.

That's all from me today! Happy Thursday :]

Sally Hansen Nail Prisms - Blush Diamond Dark Swatches

Hi all, hope everyone's having a good Thursday!

Today I have some super sparkly swatches of Sally Hansen Nail Prisms - Blush Diamond (dark version). I'm pretty certain that's the right polish. I used NailXChange's Sally Hansen Nail Prisms Guide to help me figure out which it was, polishes without names, and with different versions is so annoying.

This is layered over Color Club - Sweet Pea, first one coat, two and then three for the full-whammy holographic goodness :]
One coat over Sweet Pea
Two coats
And three coats for full gorgeous linear effect.
Have you been lucky enough to stumble across any of the Nail Prisms recently?

Using Matte - We Stamp On Sundays

Hi all! Happy Sunday!

This weeks challenge over at Adventures In Stamping was to use some aspect of matte in our manis. I was originally going to do a new mani for this challenge stamping over a matte coat, but when I finished stamping the nails I was doing at the time, I knew they'd look great matte.

For this I used both ends of an Essence Colour3 stick. Midnight Blue is the base colour, and City That Never Sleeps is the lovely jelly flakie, that reminds me of Magnetic - Freakin' Violet. I then stamped with more blue - NYC - Niagara Foils using Bundle Monster BM 321, and added Rimmel - Matte Finish.
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Essence Nail Colour3 - Midnight Date
Flakies: Essence Nail Colour3 - City That Never Sleeps
Stamp Colour: NYC - Niagara Foils
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM321
Gloss Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails
Matte Top Coat: Rimmel - Matte Finish
The dimension the flakies give it almost make it look like crushed velvet ^-^
Glossy
One very thin coat of City That Never Sleeps
Midnight Date - 2 Coats Sunlight
Midnight Date - 2 Coats Shade
What do you guys think? I loved wearing these matte, but the picture of the finished product with a gloss top coat really makes the green flakies pop out!

Hope you're all having a good Sunday! :]

Bronze Black & Teal Crisscross

Hi all! Happy Thursday!

I hope everyone had a good Halloween last night! I stayed in and tried to be productive.. But was feeling blah so I watched funny shows instead in attempts to pass some time and make myself giggle. It worked =]
Base Coat: La Femme
Base Colours: Rimmel Black Satin & LA Colors - Current
Stamped Colours: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Bronze Ablaze & BYS - Black Satin
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM322
Top Coat: Rimmel 60 Seconds Clear
One coat of LA Colors - Current over Rimmel - Black Satin
I loooove the blue quality Current takes when layered over black. I wonder what it would look like over purple too..

Impala Disco - Sex Appeal & Black Stamping With BM 319

Hi all, happy Tuesday!

I'm actually surprised I even have a post for you guys today! I've been in some sort of reminiscing daydream state for the last two days or so, but I've already done more today than yesterday so that's good :]

Today I have some swatches, and some stamping. The stamping was actually a fail, so I stamped over it with another image, and didn't hate it too much, so you get to see :] Imapala Disco - Sex Appeal is such an amazing polish, stunning duochrome, that looks best over black as it intensifies the colour shift. Although it's very sheer on its own it has a really glow effect to it.
Base Coat: La Femme
Base Colour: Rimmel - Black Satin
Layering Colour:  Impala Disco - Sex Appeal
Stamp Colour: BYS - Black Satin
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM 319
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails

I think this was three coats
Below is one or two coats over black, the first picture is one, and the other two have two coats over Rimmel - Black Satin. So pretty!

What do you think about Sex Appeal then? I love the purple it shines from afar, or with flash.
