Queen's Day - We Stamp On Sunday

This weeks challenge over at Adventures In Stamping is a mani for Queen's Day. All I know about Queen's Day is what I've read on Wiki. So If you want to read more, click here. I didn't really know what to do for these, so I settled on the obvious idea of orange and a crown. I hope I've done the holiday proud :]

Stripes & Flowers

Totally inspired by this mani, I just loved the colour combinations, and that bird cage is so cute! Though i didn't have time to do more than just stripes and flowers before bed.

Base Coat: Nail RX - Stuck On You
Base Colour: Beauty UK - Smokey Lilac
Striping Pens: White & Pale Pink
Dark Pink: MUA - Shade 20
Acrylic Paints: Emerald Green, Viridian
Top Coat: China Glaze - No Chip Top Coat
Gold was created with Miss Sporty - Gold Backstage. And two glitter liner pens.
I loved wearing these, but I'm so used to stamping I always end up picking at the slight bumps in the design after a few days.

Gold, Chunky Glitter & Black Crackle

So it must been about a year since I bought this mixed glitter, and I had forgotten all about it. At the time I did swatch it, and decided it was too goopy, and smelly to really bother with. Also the glitter's curved and it's beyond annoying¬_¬

Anyhooo I recently found it again and decided to give it a go with a crackle. Unfortunately the gold had leaked from the gold glitter turning them silver, and the clear into murky brown. It's rank. But it didn't look so bad on :]

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Coat: Miss Sporty - Gold Back Stage
Glitter: Xtras - Mix Gold
Crackle: Barry M - Instant Nail Effects
Top Coat: China Glaze - No Chip Top Coat

Please excuse the tip wear and nail growth, this was after a couple of days wear, I was just waiting for the sun to come back out xD

Brown And Gold Peacock

I think I'm starting to wear more Autumn colours now as it's definitely getting colour, and the biggest tree in my garden is almost naked! Although I'm not sure how long I will stay away from bright summer colours, cause I love eye catching nails, but we shall seeee.

I've never been a brown person, though it's growing on me; and back when I was 15-16 would never have even considered wearing it on my nails, never mind clothing. I'm not sure if it's because my taste's changed as i've gotten older, or just becasue I love polish that much and want to try everything out, and then there's trends to consider too. I don't know! Anyhoo, onto the nails ^_^

And just for good measure a picture of one of my kitties Cheese, who was not impressed with me being up at the windowsill taking up her bird watching space :P
