Image Transfer

I've always wanted to try news paper print nails using alcohol, but back in the day when I was first interested I was convinced that I needed special alcohol to do it. Silly Jenjen.

After seeing a couple of images recently I had an idea to see if images would also transfer to give some sort of fabric effect.

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour - Sally Hansen - White On

Images: Buzz Magazine
The picture I used was from a magazine free with whichever paper my family gets on the weekend. This was from the fashion section - an orange and lemon dress, I think.

Overall I like the way it turned out - and I think I'll use the method again for the background of some water decals I have coming :]

  1. This is a really good idea. I've seen a few newspaper ones but using a magazine is really cool. Which alcohol did you use?

  2. Thanks :] I was going to use vodka, but in my alcohol cupboard we only had a little Russian Standard left, so I used Jack Daniels haha.

I think the magazine only worked because the paper was quite matte. I haven't tried with a standard glossy magazine, not yet.
