Blue-ming Swatch, Flakies & Stamping

Hi all. I've kind of been neglecting the blog recently, and I really can't help it, my mind is just else where, hell i haven't even painted my nails since last Tuesday!

Today we have a mani that I did a few weeks back now, and unfortunately I didn't get any swatch shots on the day due to the fact I've still got to get a daylight bulb/light box set up, so a week or so later I seen the sun and speedy speedy got the lovely Color Club Blue-ming back on my nails to get some pics.

I love love love this colour, I have no other colour like it. It's pastel but it's bright, turquoise, and leans blue or green depending on the lighting, and the formula is so so good. I need more Color Clubs in my life.
Base Coat: La Femme
Base Colour: Color Club - Blue-ming
Flakies: Golden Rose Scale Effects - 02
Stamp Colour: Sally Hansen Insta-dri - Tealy Fast
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM314
Top Coat: Rimmel 60 seconds - Clear
And here are the swatches. So pretty, and while it's not a dupe for Illamasqua - Nomad, it' has the same bright tones I lust after, so I'm a happy bunny.

Hope you all are having a better day than I am :] Oh and the Giveaway will be posted tomorrow :]

Miss Sporty - 346 & Golden Rose Scale Effects 04

Some more flakie goodness from last month. I've realised now why I have so many mani's to post. It's because when I got my crazy huge winnings from fyeahilovenails, I didn't control myself, and was swatching and painting, and layering like a crazed woman :P

There was a little bit more blue to the colour shift in real life, but I didn't capture it here too well, It probably wasn't the best base for the blue to pop really.

Base coat: Nail RX - Stuck On You
Base Colour: Miss Sporty - 346
Flakies: Golden Rose Scale Effects 04

I think that was only one coat. So pretty. I think I might do swatches of all the flakies I own, what do you think?

I hope everyone's having a good weekend :]

Glitter - We Stamp On Sundays

This week over at Adventures In Stamping the challenge was to use glitter in the mani. As soon as I heard that I knew I wanted to use some of my mac glitters, and while I couldn't find my fuchsia one, I settled for using Crystalled Lime, and a Teal glitter by Lanmei that I got for 50p years ago.

First I painted my nails with on my favourite polishes (especially before I started this blog) though it has been quite neglected, and I haven't worn it in over a year! No swatches though sorry ;( I used a top coat and waited for it to be tacky before pressing in the glitter, added top coat, stamped, and then top coat again. :]

Base Coat: La Femme
Base Colour: Beauty UK - Turquoise Shimmer
Glitter: Mac - Crystalled Lime
Lanmei - Teal
Image Colour: BYS - Black Satin
Image Plate: Dashica Big SpD-A
Top Coat: China Glaze - No Chip Top Coat

Before stamp, before top coat, you can clearly see the difference in between the glitters, The Mac glitter went on so smooth, and the Lanmei glitter just clumped.

This is the first week where there will be no bottle shot/ photo of the plate, and that is because I'm feeling way too lazy to do that :P I hope everyone's had a good weekend :]

Hot Hot Hot - We Stamp On Sundays

This weeks challenge over at Adventures In Stamping was to use hot colours, or a hot theme? I'm not sure, but I was just bored; and was thinking about this mani, and how I loved the combo, and that led me to using a hot pink chrome for my stamping today.

Base Coat: Nail RX - Stuck On You
Base Colour: Deborah - Turquoise Fever
Stamping Colour: NYC - Foil'er Up
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM201
Top Coat: Models Own - 3 In 1

And here's the gorgeous base colour

Honestly the stamping and base colour look great in the photos, but it was mesmerising in real life, like, so shiny and so bold :D love them xD

Unnatural Animals - We Stamp On Sundays

So because I got a bit behind on this week I had majority of yesterday to plan something to do. I had thought to do something inspired by a pair of socks I own, but they are leopard print, and I'd done leopard print recently so that idea was scrapped. Then I settled on some sort of rainbow cow print, but they turned out pants. So I settled on rainbow zebra or tiger, even though I used the stamp a couple of weeks back :P
Base Coat: Nail RX - Stuck On You
Base Colour: Sally Hansen - White On
Stamping Colours: Rimmel - Purple Reign
Clubworks - Neon orange & Pink
                              Deborah - Turquoise Fever
                              Miss Sporty - 346
                              George - Buttercup
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM223
Top Coat: China Glaze - No Chip Top Coat

I started with a base of white, and used my usual mixing method for multicoloured stamping. As always on Sunday; here's what I used :]

Can't even describe how fun these are :D I keep staring at my nails. I think I'm going to wear these until I have the serious itch to change my mani. Hope everyone's having a good Sunday! :]

Atomic Tribal

Base coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: L.A. Colors - Atomic
Stamp Colour: BYS - Black Satin
Image Plate: Bundle Monster 222
Top Coat: China Glaze - No Chip Top Coat
No festive nails today, but wearing this was really fun as the colour of Atomic is sooo gorgeous, it's just a pity it's so sheer ¬_¬ Maybe it's just the way I apply it, but this was three coats, which looked fine, until I was in the light to take photos. I hate that you can see my nail line.

I never actually thought I'd wear this image, as I'm not a massive fan of tribal patterns like this, but I fancied a change and I was pleasantly surprised.

Swatch - Collection 2000 Hot Looks - Bongo Beat

I bought this polish probably back in June, and just wasn't really feeling turquoise until recently. The formula on this beauty is great compared to the goop of Mint Mojo, It's much thinner (you can slightly see my nail line) but it dries so quickly it doesn't really matter. For these pics I managed to get some dust, or cotton wool fluff stuck in between layers, so ignore that. Down side of this polish is that there are quite a lot of visible brush strokes, but that honestly could just be my sloppy appliction. In a way the brightness, and shininess of this makes it almost appear like a chrome, so i'm looking forward to stamping over this at some point :] Or using it for sponging some gradient tips, that could be pretty.

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: - Collection 2000 Hot Looks - Bongo Beat (3 thin coats)
See what I mean about the stuff I got stuck in it :(
I honestly could have gotten away with only two coats, but I think I have a ridge or bump where my nails grow past the nail bed, so I did three in attempt to disguise that, as this polish clings to flaws in the nails. Such a great colour though! And pics are without cleanup :]

Another Jelly Sandwich

Just a quick post today, I feel like I've been lagging with the mani's recently because the weather's so pap outside, and I'm having a hard time being motivated about anything at all :/ But hopefully I'll be back on track with my nails asap.

Two coats of Deborah Turquoise Fever
One coat of a glitter mixture
One coat of Matalan G - Plum over it all :]
I kind of feel like I should have put an extra coat of Plum over.

Rasta Aztec

I've been dying to try the Aztec image on the Bundle Monster plate 221 and I was happy as larry to stamp it in black over a nude base colour, but the other half convinced me to use a few colours. I was doing this in my crappy bedroom lighting.. at about 11pm so I didn't really think they'd come out looking Rasta, using a turquoise and pink, but I liked them anyways :]

Here's what I used. Left - Right:
CND - Stickey
Sally Hansen - White On (not pictured)
Miss Sporty - Hip Pop
Barry M - Lemon Ice Cream
Beauty UK - Turquoise Shimmer
BYS - Black Satin
China Glaze - No Chip Top Coat

I started with my base coat, and then did one coat of white so the yellow would be a bit more opaque (it's a bit thin). I then used the yellow to paint a strip down the middle of the nail, when that was dry I used a piece of tape to tape off the yellow from the other sections to get a crisp colour line, and then I painted them too, using turquoise and pink. In the end I did two coats of each colour, so the white wasn't really necessary. I then stamped the aztec design using my favourite black, trying to get the lines to match. And added a top coat.

I went to bed before these were fully dry ;( they needed another top coat in the picture. Woops.
