Alessandro International - Pomegranate Swatch & Review

Hi all, happy Sunday, and Happy Mothers Day to UK people.

No stamping challenge for me this week as I haven't had time. I do however have some swatches of a lovely polish I was sent by Alessandro International.

Here's what I was sent
Little product booklets, colour charts, note pad, pen, invitation, and the polish
And here's the swatches, this is two coats no top coat, look at how shiny that is!
Alessandro International - Pomegranate

Pomegranate is a really gorgeous Coral creme that has jelly properties, and really pretty warm gold flecks. it tends to photograph a little more orange. Dry time on this is quick, and the coverage was great, as you can see. Overall I was very impressed with this polish, and I really liked the design of the lid, I thought I might dislike it, but it was really convenient.

I'm not sure where you can buy Alessandro at the minute, but I've recently seen they have a polish called Nail Dots, which is similar to OPI Spotted, so hopefully I'll find out where you can easily get Alessandro polishes.

Jacava Chocolate Melts Review

Hi all!

Today I have a review/swatch of a polish I was sent by the company Jacava. To find out more about this company visit their site here all their polishes are DBP, Camphor, Formaldehyde and Toluene free, and they don't test on animals either.

I chose Chocolate Melts to try out. It was between that and Cappuccino Cream as I was really wanting to try one of their browns.

Dry time was really good, as was coverage. I have two thin coats on my index finger, and two thicker coats on the rest. Can you notice how squishy the thicker coats look? These are taken in various lighting, without base coat, and without top coat. Look at that shine!

This is how warm this polish looks most of the time, this picture was taken with the flash on my camera.

Horrible overcast daylight. I think you can see the slight colour difference between the thin and thick coats here.
Shade shot.

From this, and what I've seen of Jacava's other polishes I think most of their creme finishes are going to be more of a Creme-Jelly love child polish, a little bit squishy but with great coverage, and amazing shine.

Over all I'm impressed by polish formula, I really like the bottle and the handle, and the colour really is the perfect chocolate shade, and I know I'm gonna reach for this when I need this kind of warm milky brown.

These polishes retail for £14.50, but there's currently a 3 for 2 offer on.

Hope you're all having a good Saturday! :]

Winter - We Stamp On Sundays

Hi all!

I hope everyone's had a good weekend! This week's challenge over at Adventures In Stamping was for winter themed nails. Originally I was going to attempt the "winter jumper" look done with a lacey print, and a stag like these lovely nails by So long, kitty. But I had a bit of a fail with the first nail I did, so I picked a different stamp, and just got on with it as I'm feeling pretty horrific (fell down some stairs on Friday) so all I want to do is get this post done, and get back into bed :P
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Models Own - Raspberry Crush
Stamping Colour: Konad Special Polish White
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM 315
Top Coat: Rimmel - 60 Seconds Clear

And here's what I used:

I really need a new white, not much left! Also the Models Own Polish I got free in a copy of More this week :]

Happy Sunday!

Toxic Or Poisonous - We Stamp On Sundays

Hi all! Happy Sunday! I'm back for Adventures In Stamping Sunday challenge, I'm still a little sad about not partaking in last weeks challenge, mainly as it's caused a gap in my running streak! However, when I saw the vote for this week's challenge, I was so excited and inspired by 'Toxic or Poisonous' that I did my nails as soon as I seen the possible options and just hoped that it was going to win :D

I really wanted to do a glitter jelly sandwich with a neon on top to make it toxic looking, and was going to use a green, but then I came across this yellow first :D Originally I wanted to stamp an apple in red, but I found out I had no apple image, and remembered I didn't buy a Konad Red, and Quick Brick didn't really work over the glitter. So I went with the only other image I wanted to use, the mushroom on Bundle Monster BM 302. On to the pics!
Base Coat: La Femme
Base Colour: Essence Nail Colour3 - A Walk In The Park
Jelly Colour: YSSY - Not Named
Stamp Colour: Konad Special White
Red: Nail Art Pen
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM 302
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced - Hard As Nails

I seriously adored wearing these (even though the mushrooms are backwards), but as I've been putting this post together and glancing at thumbnails these really remind me of poker, like a poker table or something :P

Here's a swatch of the base Essence - A Walk In the Park, then with Essence Twins Glitter Topper - Clyde, and I thought I had a shot of YSSY over it before top coat and stamping, but I can't find one!

Trust me when I say these square glitter pieces are awesome, they shine on the nail like in the bottle, anddd a little bit of holographic shows through the coat of YSSY neon yellow.

Here's what I used:

I love how evil the outlined bunny on that plate looks :P

Well I hope everyone has had a good weekend so far, I am going to spend my Sunday evening trying to play catch up on my reading list (yet again). I'm constantly 5 days behind, and that needs to change!

Models Own - Slate Green, OPI - Warm & Fozzie & Black Dashica Stamping

Ahhhh today we have some nails I seriously loved wearing. I only wore them matte for one day, and I can't decide what I prefer, Scott prefers them glossy but I really like Warm & Fozzie matte!

First up the stamped nails, and then I'll show some swatch shots of the surprisingly squishy Models Own - Slate Green.
Base Coat: La Femme
Base Colour: Models Own - Slate Green
Sponged Colour: OPI - Warm & Fozzie
Stamp Colour: BYS - Black Satin
Image Plate: Dashica Big SpD-A
Top Coat: Rimmel 60 Seconds - Clear
With Rimmel - Matte Finish
Close up of OPI - Warm & Fozzie I love the warm rose toned specks of foil!
Here's some swatch shots of Models Own - Slate green. When I started applying this I was surprised by the formula. I was expecting the usual creme, but it turned out to be a bit more of a squishy almost jelly like creme. I think I actually prefer this formula though. I can't remember if this is two or three coats, but I believe it's two coats.

So which do you prefer, matte or gloss?

Hope everyone's having a good Tuesday!

Sinful Colors - Daddy's Girl & Hot Pink Chrome Konad

Very quick post from me tonight (Wednesday as I write this) as i'm super tired and just want to go to bed!

I finally got around to getting some swatch shots of Sinful Colors - Daddy's Girl, and although it's a pain to get colour accurate photos, I think I did okay. After that I really wanted to see what a pink chrome would look like stamped over it. It's strange though, as before I added top coat the colour was a lot brighter, and stood out against Daddy's Girl really nicely. Maybe it's the age of my top coat.
Base coat: La Femme
Base Colour: Sinful Colors - Daddy's Girl
Stamp Colour: NYC - Foil'er Up
Image Plate: Konad M60
Top Coat: China Glaze - No Chip Top Coat

Ahh Daddy's Girl is so pretty! I just love the pink glass flecks floating around this gorgeous purple jelly. The flecks take on almost a silver quality too at times.

I hope everyone's having a good Thurday so far :]

My Favourite Layering Ever: W7 - Envy & Barielle - Elle's Spell

When I started painting my nails with W7 - Envy, my intentions were to get some swatch shots. But then after I got some photos of Envy, I saw Barielle - Elle's Spell from the corner of my eye; and decided to do some layering. This combination is amazingly pretty. Where the jelly of Elle's Spell is thicker you see a slight purple tinge to what is a blue/teal outcome. I also really love the colour of the flakies against the base.

For some swatches of Elle's Spell, go here.
Base coat: La Femme
Base Colours: W7 - Envy (2 Coats)
Barielle - Elle's Spell (1 Coat)

Here's the swatches of Envy. Two coats, no top coat. It has such a strange luminous glass finish to it. I love it.

I hope everyone is having a good Tuesday!

Barielle - Elle's Spell Swatches

Today I have some swatches of Barielle - Elle's Spell. I never got the chance to swatch it by itself, but from the two coats I did on my thumb I think I'd need about four to make it opaque (I'm a thin coat kinda girl). So Here it is, two coats; over a coat of Barry M - Raspberry. I freaking love this polish, apart from the fact it dries a bit slow.

This is a pinkish red jelly packed with red/orange flakes that shine green at times, and in the bottle you get some blue glimpses too.
Base Colours: Barry M - Raspberry
Barielle - Elle's Spell

I loved these matte, I'm yet to wear this polish for more than a day as I love stamping, and have a hard time stamping over stunners like this. xD When I got this I didn't think any of the green would translate on the nail, but in real life you do get glimpses.

Claire's Candy Shop & Crackle

So this polish was sent to me as part of a swap from Iris over at Polish Amor, and I can't believe I haven't posted about it yet. Again these photos are from a while back.

Claire's - Candy Shop is such a nommy, amazing polish I love love love it. It's a pink jelly with multicoloured glitter pieces that range from small round glitter, to large hex glitter. But most of you have already seen this beauty, or Deborah Lippmann's - Candy Shop. So onto the pictures :]

Then I decided to add a black crackle, and I loved it even more, I'm kinda hit and miss with crackles, every now and again I think they look okay, but I don't actually like to wear them. But I loved this combo so much, and the photos don't do it justice it all.

& Then I added a top coat. The more I look at these photos the more I'm disappointed, in person the glitter would catch your eye between the crackle, but they kinda look blah here.

I hope everyone's having a good Wednesday :] This was meant to be a scheduled post for Thursday as I will be ingredient shopping for Scott's birthday cake stuff, but blogger decided to be a pain the butt ¬_¬

Revlon Whimsical Swatches

I know most of you have seen way too many swatches of Whimsical. But I can't not share mine too! This was the polish I swapped Fantasy Fire for with Iris.

I loved this polish, I wish it was slightly more opaque, as I'd rather not layer it and get more squishy goodness, but I can't be bothered for the 4/5 layers that would take. Other than that the formula was good, I did have to place some of the glitter though. Turns out I'm a little heavy handed and just brushed the glitter off.

Two Coats of Essence - Speed Of Light Blue & Two Coats of Revlon - Whimsical

I think the next time I use this I will be more careful with placing the glitter before the second coat so I get more depth to it. Hope you guys enjoyed my swatches :]
