Models Own - Emerald Black & Pinky Brown Layering

Hi all,

Smallest of posts today with a quick pic of Models Own - Emerald Black (2 coats) and Pinky Brown (1 coat).

I wore these for about a week whilst I was busying myself trying to figure out how to decorate my room back in July.  I think I had forgotten how much I love Pinky brown's colour shift.

Models Own - Black Emerald & Pinky Brown

Hope you've all had a good weekend - I've had a proper lovely chilled one getting stuff ready for Halloween and lazing on the sofa with my boyfriend,  Love these cosy nights in!

Summery Pastel Paisley

Hi all.

I can't quite believe it's Sunday already - especially as I wanted a chill weekend, and made no plans for Saturday. But I got quite a lot of little to-do items done :]

These nails are from a couple of months back now, after having a few really nice warm days I started just reaching for summery colours, especially pastels.

For this look I patted a purple, yellow, peach and blue over white, and then stamped, I feel like there may have even been a green crellie in there somewhere but I can't remember!
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colours: Rimmel - White, Models Own - Peach Sherbert, Blueberry Muffin & Banana Split, Spoiled - Amethyst
Stamping Colour: BYS Black Satin
Image Plate: Konad M64
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails

Hope you've all had a nice weekend, I'm going to go and stuff my face with tasty food & probably go and watch the new Transformers movie :]

Miss Sporty - Pop Fiction, Glitter & Dogtooth Stamping

Hi all.

Yay Sunday, the day of lazing :]

Today I have a manicure that I did back in November (for November 5th).  I only have the one photo, but I really liked this mani, I love stamping over chunky glitter.

Base Colour: Miss Sporty - Pop Fiction
Glitter: Models Own - Disco Inferno
Stamping Colour: BYS - Black Satin
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM322 (ring) & Konad M63
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails
Shot and sweet from me today, I have loads of other stuff to be getting on with even though I really should just be lazing about!

Hope you've all had a good weekend!

Jacava - Crimson Crush & Models Own - Red Sea

Hi all, so glad it's Friday!

I was actually meant to post this on Wednesday, but all this week I've managed to be in bed ready to snooze at 9.30pm or thereabouts.  So I'm doing it now while I can - before I start baking :]

Simple swatch combination for you today, and then coming up this weekend I have some loooovely NOPI polishes to show you.
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Jacava - Crimson Crush
Topper: Models Own - Red Sea
Top coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails

And here's the swatches of the lovely Jacava - Crimson Crush gorgeous bright glossy jelly. This is three coats.

Nailtopia Shining Stars Review

Hi my lovelies, happy Sunday! I'm not working tomrorow so I actually mean that :P

Today I have a little review of Nailtopia Shining Stars which, I will be honest, are my favourites from the bunch I got sent which you can see here.

When I started this mani I decided that I wasn't going to use stickers on all the nails, just three on each hand (middle, ring and thumb). I personally love the look, but my mum wasn't so keen!
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Models Own - Peach Sherbet
Glitter: Sinful Colors - Paris
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails

It was honestly one of the hardest things ever trying to capture the glitter on these stars as they're so sparkly, the texture of them is a little bit like fabric so you get a real depth to the glitter too.

I decided to try and cut these so I didn't have a massive gap on the sides of my nails etc, and it worked out perfectly, they were really easy to cut, and it didn't damage the stickers at all.

See what I mean about fabric-like? It gives the glitter such a great pay off.

Peach Sherbet had actually been on my buy list for quite some time. When it comes to a few different colours I'm mega fussy about the particular shade, I have plenty of peaches in my stash, but this is perfect for this type of look, and I just love Models Own cremes!

Hope you've all had a good weekend so far. I've spent most of mine being gloomy, but I'm off to see The 1975 later so I'm sure that will perk me up!

*Nail stickers were sent to me for consideration of review*

Mermaid Scales on Models Own - Blueberry Muffin

Happy Thursday!

Still ploughing my way through a back log of photos, and today I have some pretty amazing glitter nails to show you. Now, I have used this combination before in this post, and I did mention this full mani, but the photos today do a better job of showing just how bloody amazing these glitters are.
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Models Own - Blueberry Muffin
Glitter
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails

So pretty even without direct light

And here are some swatches of the lovely Models Own - Blueberry Muffin:

While this scented polish is a really pretty super pale blue, the scent doesn't really last long at all. I've had scented polishes before that last for days with top coat on, but this polish seemed like it only lasted about an hour, and didn't exist after top coat. Bit of a bummer, but the scent was just a plus to the shade for me when I bought this.

Hope you've all had a good week so far :]

Saran Wrap Base - We Stamp On Sundays

Hi everyone, happy Sunday and all that :]

I hope everyone's doing good. I've had nice lazy chilled weekend, ready for the chaos of the week ahead.

This week's challenge for Adventures In Stamping - We Stamp On Sundays is to stamp over a saran wrap (clingfilm) base. When I started painting my nails I knew I wanted to do pastel, so I picked up one of the palest polishes from my 'untried' tub and went from there.
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Models Own - Banana Split
Saran Colours: Purple Professional - 53 & 55
Stamping Colour: W7 - Blue Lagoon
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM 313
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails
Here's the saran wrap base using Purple 53 & 55 over Models Own - Banana Split

Swatch of Banana Split & What I used:

Banana Split was the first scented polish of two I've tried and I wasn't that impressed. Formula was kind of normal for yellows like his, crelly like, but the scent just didn't last an hour. Which is very disappointing as I've had scented polishes that last until they come off. Nevertheless, very pretty yellow, perfect as a base which is why I bought it - so I can't complain too much.

How do you guys like the saran wrap method? I really love doing it, it always reminds me of stone. and it's so so easy.

Til next time!

Nautical Mix Up - Double Stamp - We Stamp On Sundays

Hey all :]

Happy Tuesday woooo! Not really woo, but I've only got a four day week so i'm looking forward to that.

I almost feel like these shouldn't really have been posted as part of the Double Stamping challenge by Adventures in stamping. Again my stamping is so subtle it almost totally fails!

The other part of the challenge was to do something called shadow stamping, where you stamp in one colour, and stamp in another over slightly to the side to create a shadow effect. I did try this, with each different image but it just really didn't work out!

That being said I really love these, I'm going to be so sad when they start to chip. I also feel like it's been quite a while since I've done a really lovely mix up/pick n mix/skittles mani.

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Models Own - Blueberry Muffin
Thumb: Glitter
Stamping Colours: W7 - Suede, George - Boom, Jacava - Passion, BYS - Black Satin, Cliché - Opala
Stamping Plates: Cheeky CH36 Ch49, Bundle Monster BM312
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails
Here's the glitter in the shade.. this is in the shade people!!!
Below are 5 little vials of glitter that my friend gave me, so far I've done a full mani with the blue glitter and freaking loved it, and for this mani I used the second from the left.

Here's what I used:

And that's from me until next time!

Birthstone - Peridot - We Stamp On Sundays

Hi all.

I would say happy Monday but this means I will be back at work when this posts and that means I'll be melting as the aircon is broken, and i'm almost certain the heating is actually on.

This is my first time in a long while taking part in Adventures In Stamping We Stamp On Sundays, so although I didn't have any amazing ideas I wanted to give it a shot.

This challenge was for Birthstones, and mine is Peridot, so I reached for the first green I thought of and had a think of what I could do.
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Models Own - Golden Green
Flakies: Golden Rose Scale Effects - 04
Stamping Colour: Barry M - Gold Foil
Image Plate: Faunad M28 (Konad M33, and Bundle Monster BM318
Glitter
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Had As Nails
I'm a little bummed the gold kind of gets lost, and if you were to see these from a distance you probably wouldn't even think there was any nail art on!

Here's what I used:

The fauxnad plate M38 is actually the copy of Konad M33 so I'm not too certain why it's named differently. But a big thank you to Susana for sending this to me in one of our swaps! And here is the base before stamping:

Bright Gradient & Golden Bolts

Hi again my pretties!

I hope you're all well, today I have a mani I did about a month back now, the sun had just started coming out and it made me really fancy sporting a pink toned gradient.

I would try and make out like I didn't want to do the gradient super-smooth and seamless, but the truth is I did these in bad lighting, and pretty much was falling asleep. That being said, I do love what a bit of stamping hides!
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colours: W7 - Pink, P2 - Passion, Models Own - Raspberry Crush
Stamping Colour: Barry M - Gold Foil
Image Plate: Cheeky CH48
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard as Nails

And here's a shot of the base:

Hope you're all having a good Tuesday. I'll be at work when this posts, then afterwards I'll be on my way to see Man Of Steel. Henry Cavill in a tight fitting Superman get up; uh yes please!

Over A Lilac Base - We Stamp On Sundays

Hi all, happy Sunday! Happy bank holiday weekend to my UK peeps. It doesn't make much of a difference to me as I've not been working Mondays for the last month. Still the weather is pretty nice out, so I'm going to grab an hour lazing in the sun reading :D

This week I've actually made time for the challenge over at Adventures In Stamping and I'm hoping to keep this up as I've missed doing these weekly challenges.
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colours: Models Own - Utopia & Lilac Dream, Catrice - Dirty Berry
Stamping Colour: Miss Sporty - Raindrop
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM313
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails
Here's the base before stamping:

I started with two coats of Utopia and then dabbed all the colours randomly onto a piece of sponge to create the subtle mix. I had hoped Raindrop would've stamped a little more opaque, but I like the colour combo anyways.

And here's what I used:
L-R, Models Own - Utopia, Lilac Dream (in China Glaze bottle), Catrice - Dirty Berry, Miss Sporty - Raindrop

Hope you've all had a good weekend so far :]

Models Own - Slate Green, Gold Foil & Blue Stamping

Hi hi all, happy Wednesday, I'm feeling slightly better today although my head is still massively fuzzy. But half day today, and I'm going for food. So should be good :]

Today I've got quite the simple combo, one that didn't quite work out, but I like how sheer the stamp is all the same.
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colours: Models Own - Slate Green & Barry M - Gold Foil
Stamping Colour: W7 - Blue Lagoon
Image Plate: Konad M64
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails
And here's the base of Models Own - Slate Green & Barry M - Gold Foil I painted on Gold Foil to a scrunched up ball of cling film (plastic wrap/saran wrap) and dabbed it over Slate Green.
Hope you're all having a good week so far :]

Green Skulls and Cutlasses Nail Stamping

Hi all, hope you've all had a good weekend =]

I'm not taking part in this week's challenge at Adventure In Stamping, cause I came up with seriously no ideas!

So instead I have for you some Pirate themed stamping using Cheeky Plate CH49.
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Yes Love - K011
Stamping Colour: Models Own - Emerald Black
Image Plate: Cheeky CH49
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails
Blurry, but yay shimmer!
And here's a swatch of the lovely base colour

So what do you guys think? I really loved wearing these, and the cutlass image stamped so perfectly.
