Nicole by OPI - Roughles Swatches

Hi all,

I've recently been sent some Nicole by OPI polishes. And oh boy I'm in love.  Now it's no secret that I have a slight problem with textured nail polishes.  I love the look of them, I think they're a great change to the normal finishes, but, I can't stop touching them!  However I seem to be overcoming that problem every time I wear one of these Roughles polishes.

I'm Stucco on You is the first polish up, a lovely purple, which dries a little lighter on the nail.  It has navy and hot pink flecks in the mix. This is two coats:
Nicole by OPI - I'm Stucco on You

I think probably one of the things I like most about this collection is the sheen of the flat base peeking through from the rough particles, It gives so much dimension.

Next up is Rock the Look, a lovely pastel pink with darker pink and grey specks.
Nicole by OPI - Rock the Look

This is probably is my least favourite from the bunch, it's a lovely polish that reminds me of strawberry cheesecake, but it just doesn't do much for me.

The next beauty up is Sand in My Shoe.  I love this colour.  It's my favourite from the bunch of Roughles.  It's a bright pastel yellow with flecks of orange.  This polish totally reminds me of pollen, and it's such a lovely summery colour!
Nicole by OPI - Sand in My Shoe

The top picture is in sunlight, showing its full glory.  I probably could have done with dabbing some more polish in places to get an even fleck effect.

And last but not least, a gorgeous turquoise that's almost more of an aqua in my eyes, which has navy and grey specks.  Bright and fun and perfect for summer, this will be gracing my fingertips more than once this month at least.  This is On What Grounds?:
NOPI - On What Grounds?

And just for funsies I wanted to see how this polish would look with top coat:

These polishes, and some more I will be posting soon will be available in Superdrug stores nationwide on 30th July 2014.

Hope you've all had a good week so far.  I've got a couple extra days off as I was hoping to go camping, so I imagine lots of pampering will be occurring!

Purple - 49 & W7- Mauve Suede Cheeky Stamping

Hi all, happy Wednesday yayyy. This means I have today, and interview tomorrow and then a couple of days off :D Happy days!

Today I have some simple stamping for you. I love stamping with a polish like W7 - Mauve Suede over a creme, I love the little flecks of silver shining in the stamping.

The base is a polish brand called Purple Professional, and this particular polish is shade 49, which is a very very fair lilac. I then stamped it with W7 - Mauve Suede and Cheeky plate CH44 and added a top coat.
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Purple Professional - 49
Stamping Colour: W7 - Mauve Suede
Image Plate: Cheeky CH44
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails

Above is three thin coats. no top coat.

Hope you've all ha a good week so far :]

NOPI - I Lilac Gumdrops

Hi all. Happy Wednesday!

By the time this posts i'm hoping my newest little nephew has been born. My soon to be sister-in-law has been in labour since yesterday evening. Dying to find out his name; dying to meet him!

Today I have some swatches of Nicole by OPI - I Lilac Gumdrops from the Gumdrops line.  This is a really stunning sugar-matte frosted polish, which has the prettiest irregular silver flecks in it. I believe this is two coats shown below, not the best light, but murky overcast days are full upon the North East of England.
Nicole by OPI - I Lilac Gumdrops

I really love the glow of this polish, in fact, all the polishes from this line (I still have more swatches to come). I also couldn't help but try this with a top coat, and with a matte top coat too, to see the difference.
Still very glowy with a top coat
Matte Top Coat, gives such a beautiful powdery finish!
That's all from me today! I'm hoping to be back at the weekend with some more stamping, and some more from the Gumdrops collection.

Candy Coloured Splatter With Skull Stamping

Hi all.

How's everyone doing this murky Sunday? I'm particularly gloomy, and still feeling rough with this horrid cold, but I'm going to try and be productive and maybe even get some Christmas themed nails done later!

This mani is something I did back in August, and I loved these, quite a lot. I'm a little obsessed with the using the method of using the rough side of a sponge to "splatter" colours on for a base before stamping.

The base colours for this mani were all from the Nicole by OPI Selena Gomez range. I used Selena, Love Song and Pretty In Plum, and used Konad White and the Cheeky Viva Mexico Plate for stamping.
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Nicole by OPI - Selena
Splatter Colours: Nicole by OPI - Pretty In Plum, Love Song
Stamping Colour: Konad White
Image Plate: Cheeky Viva Mexico
Top coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails
 Here's the splatter mani:

And here's a picture of the pretty Selena

I think I'm gonna settle myself in bed with some nail supplies and a film and see what I come up with! Hope you've all had a good weekend.

NOPI - Love Song & Barry M - Gold Foil Stamping

Hi all, happy Monday, can you believe there's only just over two weeks left until Christmas?!

I'm hoping I may get the chance to post some festive manicures before Christmas rolls around but I don't hold high hopes - so I may not even do any, and how crazy is that?!

Today I have a little post showing the lovely NOPI - Love Song with some stamping from the Viva Mexico Cheeky Plate using Barry M - Gold Foil.
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Nicole by OPI - Love Song (Selena Gomez collection)
Stamping Colour: Barry M - Gold Foil
Image Plate: Cheeky Viva Mexico
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails

And here's a swatch shot of Love Song.  It's a really gorgeous Lilac shade, with very slight shimmer, which is mainly hidden on the nail but it definitely lightens up the whole thing.

Hope you've all had a good Monday so far.  I think by the time this posts I will be setting up the Christmas tree in the office :]

Over A Lilac Base - We Stamp On Sundays

Hi all, happy Sunday! Happy bank holiday weekend to my UK peeps. It doesn't make much of a difference to me as I've not been working Mondays for the last month. Still the weather is pretty nice out, so I'm going to grab an hour lazing in the sun reading :D

This week I've actually made time for the challenge over at Adventures In Stamping and I'm hoping to keep this up as I've missed doing these weekly challenges.
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colours: Models Own - Utopia & Lilac Dream, Catrice - Dirty Berry
Stamping Colour: Miss Sporty - Raindrop
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM313
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails
Here's the base before stamping:

I started with two coats of Utopia and then dabbed all the colours randomly onto a piece of sponge to create the subtle mix. I had hoped Raindrop would've stamped a little more opaque, but I like the colour combo anyways.

And here's what I used:
L-R, Models Own - Utopia, Lilac Dream (in China Glaze bottle), Catrice - Dirty Berry, Miss Sporty - Raindrop

Hope you've all had a good weekend so far :]

2true - Soft Grey & NYC - Techno Foil Stamping

Hi all, Hope you're having a good Friday! Thank goodness the weekend is here!

Today I have another polish that I was sent to review from 2true for more on the company, and the other polishes I have reviewed click here. This post isn't really a review but a quick stamp/swatch.

For more colour accurate photos of Soft Grey, visit Lucy's Stash Here as I could not for the life of me get it to photograph without the green tone before stamping!

Soft grey is a medium grey creme that sometimes looks green to me, just not as green as my photo. Below is two coats that offered really great coverage, and I had no problems at all maneuvering the brush/formula, which lead me to basically no clean up whatsoever.
Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour:: 2true Fast Dry - Shade 13 Soft Grey
Stamping Colour: NYC - Techno Foil
Image Plate: Konad - M73
Top Coat: Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails
This is how the polish looks most of the time, and below is when my camera caught it looking very green.

I really love polishes that give you this kind of look in only two coats, so smooth, and as the name implies it dries really quick too.

Essie - To Buy Or Not To Buy & Multi-coloured Stamping

Hi all, happy Tuesday!

Small post for you today as there wasn't much daylight knocking around when I was trying to take these photos. I also have some polish-pimped plugs at the end :]

I started with a base colour of Essie - To Buy Or Not To Buy, which is a gorgeous lilac colour with some really pretty ice blue fleck-like shimmer. It does hide on the nail, but not as much as these pictures would make you think. I then did some multi-coloured stamping using this method, using Beauty UK - Jelly Bean & W7 - Blue Lagoon
Base Coat: La Femme
Base Colour: Essie - To Buy Or Not To Buy
Stamping Colours: W7 - Blue Lagoon
                                  Beauty UK - Jelly Bean
Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM 321
Top Coat: Rimmel 60 Seconds - Clear
Unfortunately I didn't get a good shot of the base colour, due to my base coat making things bubble like crazy (something that's never happened to me before but you can't see in these pics too badly) and I was honestly chasing the sun around the house. I'll definitely be swatching this colour properly some time soon to show just how pretty the blue fleck-like shimmer is :] Above is two coats, and the first layer bubbled like crazy due to my base, and the second kind of helped to cover it up.

On to the polish-pimped plugs I mentioned:

These are just some plain black saddle acrylic plugs that I wear (in my stretched lobes) from time to time, and I decided they needed a boost. I've been wanting to do this for a while now, as they're just sitting in my piercing box along with many other items, all boring and plain. When I first got Golden Rose Scale Effect 04 I was tempted to do it, but I kept forgetting!

For these I put down a coat of black polish, and then one coat of Golden Rose Scale Effects - 04 and a top coat. I still need to go over the edges again and maybe put another top coat on to help them last, but for now I'm pretty happy with how awesome they look, with about 10 minutes of effort!

What do you think about the plugs?

George - Lavender & Catrice - Genius In The Bottle

When I first got Catrice - Genius In The Bottle I was quite intrigued to try it out stamped over black, and I did a quick test on one nail and loved it, but I went rummaging for a polish I hadn't used in ages, or hadn't shown here yet, and I came across George - Lavender, and just thought 'why not?' So, it’s an odd combo that popped more in real life, but I liked wearing this anyways.
Base coat: La Femme
Base Colour: George - Lavender
Stamping Colour: Catrice - Genius In The Bottle
Image Plate: Born Pretty Store M71
Top Coat: Models Own - 3 In 1

This purple was one of those colours I bought before I got totally obsessed with the nail world. Where my mani's consisted of pressed on glitter, marker pen doodling’s, and tape mani's. It went unused for around three years because with first use it was sheer, and I thought it would take loads of coats to become opaque. Turns out it was my polish skills. When I tried it last week for this mani it was a perfect 2 coats, with a squishy shiny finish. :]

I wonder how many other polishes are getting neglected because of my previous experience with them. I hope everyone's having a good Thursday :] I'll be at work again when this is posted, probably hoping for it to be Friday evening =P

Catrice Dirty Berry & Black Swirls

Hey hey hey! Today I have a polish that I won from Ingie over at fyeahilovenails, and I've stamped over it using the plate that I won from Dashica Beauty.

Now just before I got wind of the fact I'd won Ingie's giveaway I had seen quite a few posts with Catrice - Dirty Berry, and I really loved it, so when I realised I'd won it; I was very excited :P Downside though it's such a bitch to photograph :P This is my first real holo polish, it's not a linear holo, but its damn pretty. It also applies like liquid bliss, so smooth, the coverage is great, it's not thick; it's just perfect!

 Catrice - Dirty Berry - 2 coats.

Base Coat: CND - Stickey
Base Colour: Catrice - Dirty Berry
Stamp Colour: BYS - Black Satin
Image Plate: Dashica Big SpD-A
Top Coat: Models Own - 3 In 1

These were really fun to wear, I feel like I should have changed the image placement up a bit, maybe using the smaller version of the same design on my ring fingers or something. Anyhooo I hope everyone's having  a decent Tuesday. I'm just looking forward to this week being over!

So one photo blog posts are back for today! Sorry for the naff photo too, but I couldn't not post these after all the effort, even though there's a lot to be improved upon!

Utopian Splatter

I did these nails whilst house sitting, on one of the rare days the dogs weren't doing my head in :P So these are probably a couple of weeks old, and since then I've cut my nails down a bit because my right thumb snapped, again!

M&S Mini & Chrome Multi Stamp Mani

You can't really tell too well from these pictures, but there's actually two chromes, pale pink, and a lilac, which switch top and bottom on alternating finger; if that makes any sense. For this I used 3 different Bundle Monster image plates and one Konad plate.

The blue is from a set of 4 mini's that I got as a "hard work" present from my old managers (<3 them) in the set there was a bright pink creme, a yellow, and two glass flecked polishes; this blue, and a turquoise mint type colour.

Direct sunlight, 2 coats of the blue.

Base coat: CND - Stickey
Base colour: Unknown M&S
Stamp Colours: N.Y.C - Foil For You & Techno Foil
Plates Used: BM207, BM208, BM215 & M64
