This is a slight fail on my part, don't get me wrong, I like the colour combo, but the stamping combo is just a fail in my eyes. I hate stamping over dark fleck duo chromes like this as I think it generally kills off the beauty of the polish somewhat. But after painting on Pinky brown (which I love) I really had the urge to try and stamp, so I just went for it. I think it was a bad move to stamp in another foil. I chose to stamp with OPI - Designer...De Better, which is another polish I love, as I have nothing else like it, and probably never will. The copper flecks in this polish bring me joy!
That being said I still liked the outcome, not a bold or crazy design, but it made Pinky Brown extra sparkly, and I still got the full shift effect of it.

Apologies for how grainy these look in the photos, I think all the sparkly goodness made my camera a little loopy =P
So, how do you stamp over a duo chrome foil fleck polish like this?
This came out really pretty! Maybe try making it matte?
ReplyDeleteAh I wish I had of thought of that! I don't think I've even tried a polish like this matte! Though I think my matte coat kinda kills shimmer too much.
DeleteI don't see this is a fail, it's lovely.
ReplyDeleteAnd LOL camera's can have a hard time with mani's like this :)
Awh! well as long as you lovely lot like it I won't be as hard on myself lol
DeleteYeah I see what you mean... it's like they're so similar you can't quite make out the pattern but it still looks good. I love designer de better. Bloody amazing colour! The red flecks in it are so unusual!
ReplyDeleteYeah! & It is such a pretty polish! :]
DeleteI love how subtle this is!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Meredith! The subtlety of it is really pretty!
ReplyDelete:D Thanks!
DeleteI like these, it almost looks marbled since the stamp is so subtle. I actually haven't tried stamping over a duo or foil yet, I guess I have something to try! Usually my foils are the things I stamp with instead of the base.
ReplyDeleteThanks! You should give it a go and tell me what you like best ;] hahah.
DeleteAgree with what you said about stamping...
ReplyDeleteMaybe if it was a chromatic gold it would look better...
In shade the contrast wasn't stronger?
Yeah! ;]
DeleteVery beautiful! I loved the color!
ReplyDeleteI love the effect. It took me a few closer looks to see what was involved in this mani, but awesome. Thanks for doing it and sharing it.
ReplyDelete:] Thank you!
DeleteNice subtle combination! It's been ages since I did any stamping.
ReplyDeleteGet your kit out :] Even if it's just for a play rather than a mani :]
DeleteI actually like the stamping because it is so subtle! This Models Own polish is gorgeous, too!
ReplyDelete:D Thanks.
Deleteohh i love manicures like this. So beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteI think it looks nice, very subtle. I had a similar problem rhetorically other day with one of my Insta Dri polishes, it came out very subtle & even more so when I added the top coat x :-)
ReplyDeleteAh! I hate when top coat spoils the party!
